Hello everyone, especially this time to Evanescence fans~
I was searching the web for an interview I'd done a while ago and serendipity-stumbled upon these threads on an Evanescence forum:

A lot of you know my song, "Angel of Mine," but I got quite a kick out of reading what others have written about it. Apparently there's been some sort of controversy with people thinking that the song was an early, unreleased demo sung by Amy Lee of Evanescence (I'm taking this as a compliment
). I guess it was on LimeWire and some other sites for people to download and listed without an author or as "Amy Lee" or "Evanescence" as the author/performer. There are a bunch of discussions about it, also on YouTube and Wikipedia. Amy Lee herself even commented on it, saying that she checked it out and, "Nope, I've never heard this before. It's not me!" Also, the lyrics that had been listed were sometimes quite different from what they actually are, which was cute. Anyway, I thought it was interesting & that I'd share!
Here's what I posted to the forum:
"Angel of Mine" was indeed written and sung by me and one that I recorded in December of 1998 in my parents' basement on a piece of crap 8-track as a demo! I believe this was probably quite some time before anyone had ever heard of Amy Lee or Evanescence. It was released on my first solo CD called, "in the Beginning, there was..." in 2000. I got a kick out your postings, though! I had NO idea there was such a controversy built up around the song.

Yes, it's schmaltzy, but I'll stand up & admit to being cheesy sometimes (and ESPECIALLY when I was an 18 year-old lovestruck girl, as I was when I wrote & recorded this)!
