This is to give people a little update on my life! If you are already quite aware of all aspects of my life you may prefer to not read this blog!
I Joined the Screen Actor's Guild on November 13 th. This means that the work that I didn't really want to do but found myself unwilling to try too hard to get out of is now paying me approximately three times what I was making before. I don't hate it at all now!
In conjunction with my choice to join the union I also found an availability service. I call Joey's list everyday before a day I would like to work. Someone from the company usually, 75% of the time, calls me in the late afternoon with my details for the next day. This removes all the annoyance of calling Central casting to look for work.
I have been writing a screenplay. This will be a touching comedy that will star Owen Wilson along with myself. I"m about half way into the movie and am really enjoying the process!
I am going to be returning the Minnesota for 9 days in the end of december. I arrive early the morning of the 19th and leave late on the 28th. I expect a trip to F-M on the 20th or 21st and hope to see all my beloved while there.
When I return to California and my second year as a resident begins Elizabeth and Kate Rick, in conjunction with Jonathan Meza, Tom Walz and I will be starting a comedy group. This group will be finding a venue, most likely, for friday or saturday nights for a month. We would like to utilize all our talents by putting on a show with elements of sketch comedy, improv, stand up and, fingers crossed, digital fun. This last element is a real exciting aspect for me. I think this could really be a great way to set our show apart. We just need a projector and a white screen to project upon between other parts of the show, or even interacting with other parts of the show. We are searching for a third female right now as we would like to even it out. I have someone in mind and I think she would be perfect for what we are trying to do. We'll see what the crew thinks.
In other news, I should be an uncle in just about a month. Sarah is due on the 13th or somewhere thereabouts. I"m very thankful that there is that first 6 years when the child won't know if I"m a good uncle or not. I have time to get stable! yes!!!
On a much sadder note, I love jalapenos.
Next post I will revert to my customary style of talking about something specific and usually crazy
Heart,
Joe
ps. I love all two of you who will read this blog.
