This is a wicked plan you have. Hopefully it can make a difference and get music out there which isn't tied in to the big labels and has come about from musicians playing what they love, not what will appeal to a target demographic.

 We've also received good feedback from other bands on here and I love that it makes people actually listen to other bands and to support each other. Wicked stuff.

The next step is to maybe get some gigs together. We'd love to share a stage with the likes of Moz, Fire Bug and The buffalo Kings. So if anyone wants to sort out something with us then that would be awesome.

Have found some really excellent bands, not just in your top20 but in all your friends! There is just so much good stuff out there that doesn't get a look in with 'the industry', to have someone champion the cause like this is great.
Current top20 favs are The Hoi Polloi and Fire Bug.

Part of what I do too, is find new bands and develope relationships with them....maybe make them a promo cheaply....in the hope that they go on to better things. This has been a great experiment, and a good place to look for new talent.

Firebug, Big Circus, and the inimitable Or Was He Pushed? (what planet are they on?) have been great finds. Maybe I'll put some viuals together for one of them....or maybe one of the others.

I love myspace - I book all my Sunday night bands thru myspace - I can find out all about them and listen to them and communicate with them all in one place - its safe as fuck!

I found Cardello on my space and as soon as I listerned to their music it filled me with warmth..theyre a band who truley diserve your recognition,.they have a real sound of well tuned musicans...not just a group of people making a noise...well thought out lyrics. I think music should sound familiar and put you in a place, their sound does that instantly and it is n't long before your humming along with the catchy melodies.

Like their music so much a friend and I went to a local venue to check them out...I can tell you we werent disappointed...They sound even better live and the crowd was filled with peace and happiness... really appriecating their music..

The guys themselves are lovely...even though I had chatted to them only a few times on my space...David(Nicey) acknowledged me and came over to say hello...I thought that was really nice...taking time to say hi that goes a long way...

All in all I think this band above alll others SHOULD be NUMBER 1

see them live ....listern to their music....make them no 1.

PS...Got a joke for u!!! English man, Scottish man & An Irish man all on the run from the Law, with the old Bill hot on their trail they look for a place to hide, they stumble across an alley way desperately looking for somewhere out of sight. In the alley way conveniantly there are three empty sacks...They cease the oppertunity and each of them climb inside and hide...When the law catches up they approach the sacks kicking the first one, the English Man, Meows, the copper assumes it is a sack of abandoned kittens and procedes...Kicking the second sack the Scottish man, Barks,The copper assumes its just a sack of abandoned puppies, and, eager to catch his men he procedes to the third sack, Giving it a good kick the Irish man, cries out "Potatoes, Potatoes"...Its an oldy but a goldy!!!

We The Poet Dogs have been going for 5 years now and we no first hand how hard it is to be seen by top record people. We have supported the likes of athlete, manson , shed 7 , the leverllers, The wonder stuff twice, was ment to support bob geldoff but he cancelled ,and The Alarm.

We have had album of the week in the sunday express single of the week in sweden , movie companys using us for promoting  them and the bbc using our tracks on the day time series doctors.

Im so glad ur page is here...U may or may not of noticed I visit daily and stick a little comment asking people to come and check out my tunes (Self promotion is not a sin & besides I have no shame!!!)...I have been getting some really good feedback and loads of new myspace buddies, So thank u!!! and also possible gig offers which is very groovy... I will be putting some new tunes up soon that will hopefully catch urs and other myspacers attention...Since finishing my Degree and inbetween labouring for my dad, Music is fast becoming my life and although I have said it before, what u r doing for musicians on Myspace and probably in ur working world will not go unoticed...U BEAUTY!!!

The trouble with bands nowadays is that everyone thinks that they are not what they used to be. The one thing we know now though is that nostalgia is the only thing which isn't what it used to be and many of the bands out there, and there are many of them, are streets ahead of much of the stuff which people now say was a golden age. Take a band like The Watanabes for example, or the songwriter Pete Marriott. The former is a good rocking, gentle, intelligent, sensitive band led by a man who must have been attacked by Morrissey ina a previous life and who has absorbed him into his very soul. The result, however, is not just Morrissey but The Smiths+ or squared or something else algebraeic. Great tunes, some of the written in Japanese which can, if the mood takes you and the alcohol has gripped you, have you crying in your own front room..... oh, maybe it's just me then.

Pete Marriott, on the other hand, has no discernible single influence and his songs range across a myriad of styles, leaving tunes and hooks and choruses and middle 8s to die for and to live for in their wake (if you just ignore the odd rough edge to the voice along the way). Now, it may well be that I say this because he is also the musical engine behind Checkout Girl, but...... oh, yes, I do say it because of that, but also because it is true! So, Chris, get Checkout Girl, Pete Marriott and The Watanabes up there and unleash real music upon the ears of a recptive and grateful world!

What a cool idea there are some great bands out there that deserve some recognition.

I would like you to check out The Pensioners. Very nice people with an original sound. After adding them as friends and checking out their profile I fell in love with thier track Rock n Roll Morning and added it to my own profile.

Some really cool and inventive bands on here, i particuarly like the poet dogs. They have a modern style mixed with an old groove. They kind of remind me of abba and mammas and the papas.

Be cool
