Ahh, my fellow MySpacers.

I feel like were all one big happy family.. this thing is truly addictive. They need a MySpace priory where we can all go to recover!

So the news at this end is:

The great Mojo magazine has asked me to contribute to their Covermount CD for the July issue (out in June, just to make things tricky!) They are putting together a version of Revolver (Beatles album, in case any of you have your heads in buckets for the last 40 years) done by various different artists.. one of whom is me! Ive done a version of I Want To Tell You which is a George Harrison song.. check it out when June comes round.. let me know what you think.

There is also an interesting compilation coming out on July 18th, 2006 in the US, with European release tentatively scheduled for July 17th which is an album of tracks written specifically about characters from Neil Gaiman novels. Those of you who dont know Neils work, hes written many many fantastic books so there is a wealth of bizarre and troubling characters to choose from. There are some great artists on this CD, inlcuding Tori Amos, who has referred to Sr. Gaiman more than once in her own songs in the past.

And there we are.. my news. Im going to get back to some writing in my Ivory tower and shouting at the bank cos someone has been using my credit card to buy expensive electrical goods!

Ho hum.. til next time.

OH Thea that's terrific news! Revolver is one of the most talented, however overlooked, albums the Beatles ever recorded (although fairly overshadowed by Submarine & Sgt. Pepper I think ~ not unlike Joseph Arthur's Redemption Son I imagine).

Sorry to hear about your credit card -- that's been happening a great deal lately -- I had my wallet stolen from work in February. Oh great fun that was!

Thanks for the recommendations!

*mim*

p.S> Have you seen Mirrormask yet? It was a recent release of Gaiman's in colaboration with Jim Henson studios. Very good and note worthy.

Great news, Thea!
It's certainly nice to hear "directly" from you and to be up-to-date with your news.
Good luck with the writing!

I love your covers. They are truly respectful and as passionate as your own tunes. Really looking forward to the Revolver thing. My 14 year old son (a clashoholic) skips past all the other tunes on the UNCUT White Riot tribute, from a couple of years back, and digs your version of "I'm not down" the best. Proud of him!Cheers. Hope you come back to Edmonton soon.

I love all the songs you covered, and I am sure that this one will be fine too.

Oh, and some of us here are waiting for a Warren Zevon cover. Rumours say that you covered "Mohammed´s radio"... once or twice.. is this true ? Well, the village idiot here would be happy.
