This is a comment I posted in the blog of Dr. David Yeagley, a self-hating Commanche Indian.
First off, I'd just like to know why you are so self hating. Seondly, you could very easily make some very convincing arguemnts and win more people to your side without insulting entire groups of people. You have this idea that ndn's lack patriotism and harbor too much animosity toward White Christians. Fine. I'm all for racial understanding and love of country. So what purpose does perpetuating native stereotypes serve? We have a right to be angry. We have a right to have our story told. When Columbus reached the outskirts of the North American continent, his attemts to enslave and convert the Arawaks was the initial nudge in the domino effect that eventually caused the utter degradation and slaughter of millions of native people across the entire North American and South American continents. He wasn't simply an ambitious sea voyager. He may not have had the intention to cause genocide when he set sail from Spain, but he knew what the hell he was doing when he set sail back for Europe. So yeah, our people have a right to hate this man, regardless of whether or not we ever met him. I abhorr Adolf Hitler, but I am not a Jew. More than anything, your ideology makes me sad. Instead of promoting understanding and reconciliation you promote racism via self hatred and worship of the white man. You think ndn's are inferior because you obviously view yourself as inferior, and so you've dedicated your life to be the native equivalent to an Uncle Tom. So instead of throwing and insult your way and bringing myself to your level, I will say that I'm sorry your life turned out the way that it did, and that the beautiful native girl from your youth left you for another was the cause.
