How do you record the show?
I sit down about 30 minutes before the show starts and jot down what things I would like to talk about. If for example, I want to talk about something in the news then I will do a little bit of research about it. I also gather any emails that may have come in and also jot down other bits to talk about in case my mind goes blank! I start up my Skype and my ustream streamer, set my alarm to alert me later when I have 1 minute left and then hit record on my recorder and then start the show, play the theme and off we go!
Where do you record the show?
I record the show from my spare bedroom using an old laptop, Shure C606 mic, Numark DM1001 EX mixer and various playout software.
I run a radio station. Could I play your show out on my station?
Yes please do! I'm not bothered about any copyright on my show so please take it and use it on your station just please let email me to let me know when its on and your url and I can add you to my links page on my website. Please be aware that sometimes there may be swearing in the show so if you are ok with that then feel free to use it.
Are you not on Future Radio anymore?
I did used to present a weekly show on Future Radio but I decided to step down for the time being to do my own thing. It was starting to take over my days off a little bit too much and I wasn't finding time to spend doing other stuff or seeing my girlfriend as much as I wanted.
Who inspired you to do radio / podcasts?
Ever since I was young I've listened to radio. Recently I have got more and more into speech radio. My inspirations are Chris Reardon, Iain Lee, Clive Bull, James Whale and Steve Allen. LBC is an amazing talk station which I only wish would be on FM here in Norwich!
Whats happened to Timmy the budgie!!!?
I used to have a budgie called Timmy! He came back home to Rossy for about a year but has now gone back to my mums house as hes a pyscho!
Whats the best station you've been on?
I have been on several station but I would think QMR was my fav as I did the show from home and they basiclly trusted me to do what I wanted which was awesome. I left that station as I didn't agree with some changes there that was happening.
Where do you get the music for the music show from?
I source the majority of the music for the show from
The Podsafe Music Network It is a site where new artists put up their music and podcasters download the music and then play them on there shows like I do. The site is very exciting as its constantly being added with new music so every time I go on there is exciting as you never know what will be on their next!
Would you be able to do free voicovers?I know how hard it is to get a voice for your radio show so if you would like free voiceovers for your station or show please feel free to email me. I love doing geeky radio stuff so send any requests for free voiceovers just email me at
ross@rosspatzelt.co.uk I apologise but cannot make whole produced jingles for you due to the time it takes to do but as I say I am very happy to do you the dry free voiceovers so you can mix them how you want! All I ask is you put a link to me myspace from your website.
If you have a question about anything to ask me email ross@rosspatzelt.co.uk
What's your favourite show you have ever done?
Without a doubt the finest moment on any show I have ever done was on Sunday 23rd August 2009. Iain Lee from Absolute Radio just out of the blue Skyped into my show and then for the next 25 minutes we talked all about radio! I admire Iain as a presenter and I was so pleased to have him on!
