For a second season, The HSUS sponsored fur-free fashion designer Charlotte Ronson's runway show, this time held in the epicenter of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, the Bryant Park tents.

On Saturday, Lindsay Lohan, Sean Lennon, Emma Roberts and others saw Ronson's Spring/Summer 2009 line accessorized with The HSUS's new fur-free canvas tote. The reusable cotton gift bags all contained the fur-free button, a brochure and a DVD on the cruelty of animal fur.

"I don't support cruelty to animals; anyway, faux fur can be just as chic," said Ronson.

Check out some of the photos from the fashion show (more on the way):

I never have and never will buy any fur items. I recently got a letter about how in China they are making items with fur and it told of the absolutely cruel treatment animals receive. I'm talking about dogs and cats folks...they are tortured! Do not buy fur even if it says it's rabbit or any other sort of animal because chances are it's a dog or cat that has been tortured.
Thank you!

That is awesome! Continue to fight against using fur for anything but keeping it where it belongs which is on the animals!

I saw some mink boots on zappos. com! I was upset!
Sergio Rossi Busara. $714.

I can't access the shoe page anymore, probably because of the comment I left.
Lol

I work in the textile industry, and let me say...there are some amazingly beautiful faux furs out there, for those who like the "look", but don't want don't want to steal from living creatures.
Faux is definitely the way to go!

This is wonderful that attention is being brought to this issue by the entertainment world....
"Faux fur" is a great substitute for the real thing..... And we all know that fur looks best on it's original owners......

But as long as people continue to wear LEATHER, as in shoes....... this seems to be a bit oddly hypocritical to me?
Is not LEATHER just SKIN without FUR?

I know, "Baby Steps" as people and attitudes will not change slowly and not overnight......

But I wonder if people can ever give up Leather/Fur completely?

I hope that someday, they can and will........ But in the meanwhile, every little bit helps!

THANK YOU for posting this, I will definitely get a tote! I model in NYC and would NEVER even wear faux fur, since I volunteer with cats, it's so important to educate people on how cruel buying and wearing fur is.
Thank you for all that you do! :)
