A' Rebours – Vanish

This is the second release from Final Joy Records and the first release for the artist known as A' Rebours, and what a fine release it is. Gothic Rock does not get much better than this, the music is tight, the vocal melodies are done extremely well, and the lyrics are very well written. If I had to compare it something else, I would say it reminds me of Voltaire, but that actually doesn't do it justice. The quality, vocals and lyrics are leagues beyond anything he has ever done, and at times the music can take on a shoegaze-like quality that blows Voltaire out of the water.
