Current mood:  anxious

I know this isn't going to be cool.... and it does not necessarily represent the opinions of the bands on the label..... and I do normally try to keep politics out of the label business, but this election is too important to sit on the sidelines.

I know many of you think anything "establishment" is bad... and you've got disgust for anything GW Bush and (the party that birthed him) the Republicans (and I would agree with you on many points I'm sure)... but that is not reason enough to vote for the opposition. We all like to talk about Freedom and Liberty and Equality and Justice... but none of these are Advanced by Barrack Obama in more than words, platitudes and wrong headed approaches (as well meaning as they might be). I know many of you will automatically cry Racist as has been the instant cry across the media with regards to anyone who makes an honest decision not to back Obama, but I would love nothing more than to have a Black president (or a woman president), the culmination of Martin Luther Kings Dream and the framework of those inspired words in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal, these for so long haven't always been fully realized... We long for a time when one isn't judged on the color of their skin, but by the content of their Character... However, the Man of Character we're needing now is not Senator Obama, but John McCain!

And in spite of all the criticisms and complaints I've had about McCain in the past (and I've had many) i see only one Choice this election (it's either going to be Obama or McCain)...

If you believe like we believe that Government should be small, efficient, out of our lives as much as possible... equipped for the main goal of keeping us safe from threats foreign and domestic and not Parenting us, making us SLAVES to Government, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in your rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in your RIGHT to own a gun and to protect yourself from those who would seek to take or endanger your life (people or governments) and liberty, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in the inherent value of innocent Human life, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in LOW taxes (or like us a Flat tax), and that paying taxes is not PATRIOTIC, but a theft in the truest sense of the word, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in AMERICA as we do, as the Last Best Hope for the world, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe that Government isn't our parent, and only keeps peoples down by keeping them in the cycle of entitlements (and I'm not talking about taking care of children and those truly unable to sustain themselves), then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe in choice in schools, in medical care, in the ability to fully express your opinions [political or otherwise] and beliefs, then John S. McCain is the man you want in the White House. If you believe that America is and can be that City on a Hill than Vote with us for John McCain.

We want Government off our back, out of our Pocket, out of our Personal Lives... We want government that enables us to live free from danger to our persons from conception until natural death. We want the Government to stop their social engineering and encroaching into our lives and rights. We want the Courts out of the business of Legislating from the bench and to once again strictly interpret the Constitution as it was intended, not how we currently wish it to be with the tides of culture and opinion....

Many see America as the culmination of the wrongs it's committed, and I agree with you that we've done many things wrong, but we've done way more right. Electing a man on this mystical undefined concept of Change is absolutely not what we need. Obama has no record of bipartisanship, of unity, of compromise and most importantly of Good Choices both in political decisions and in personal relational choices (you can argue his being against the war all you want... we disagree, but even that choice cost him nothing, in state senate, it wasn't a stand it was an opinion, one he's ridden on all the way until today).... He has words, just words. Obama has no Experience that would lend credence to the idea that he is ready for this position. The little we know of Obama (and I really mean little) is of a well spoken, articulate, likable MAN (not black man, but huMAN) who has an uncanny ability to speak to the masses in such a way that regardless of what he says it appears to be the truth. Obama is a man who is the least known, least tested and most secretive of candidates to ever run for the office of president. And this isn't conspiracy theory, this is fact. Obama is a man who is anything but right for our Country, in that he seeks to turn America into something it is not, a place where government is GOD where it's citizens live off it's tit, are enslaved by its social nets, ensnared by its entitlements, lacking any motive to better themselves, to be their own men and women, to make their own choices, to be FREE. The America Obama is after is one which doesn't widen the middle class and make its citizenry more equal, but consolidates it's masters and creates more slaves... Obama wants to punish success and level the playing field by not seeking the best for the country and to help everyone succeed and increasing the pie for all, but to bring everyone down so that no one succeeds. We all get a trophy, only its one none of us in retrospect will want.

I'm not rich, and I probably will never be rich... but I want the possibility, and the dream, the American Dream, that if I can dream it, I can accomplish it. I can go after it, and i may make it, i may fail, but either way, Government doesn't owe me anything, not success, not a living, not health care, nothing but protecting my life from danger and getting out of my way!

Do not let the unprecedented expenditure from the Obama campaign decide this election. Let your voices be heard and tell them in a Loud Voice... We will not be Bought!

i'm with you brother, not a huge Johnny Mac fan but i think Obama would be a train wreck in the office. he just doesn't have the substance or experience to lead. i have mixed emotions though for the next 4 to 8 years, i think they are going to be rough and ugly no matter who's at the helm. personally i'd rather see a Democrat take the blame, but i'm not sure the mass media would paint it that way so it's a tough call. it's hard to put the words "conservative" and "punk" in the same arena without being balked at or belittled, but a lot of what you're talking in your post is hard-line conservative. limited federal government, people being allowed to thrive and live up to their own potential, etc.

all in all it's going to be wild couple of years, no matter who gets the big boy seat it will be an intense, interesting time to be alive. hopefully we all come out of it with our rights and livelihoods intact.

nice post!

I can truly appreciate your opinion but as a woman over 40 I am a little sketchy about a person who can't see that a woman has a right to decide for herself what she can and cannot do to her body I do appreciate the fact that John McCain is a war vet and suffered while captured while I admire this I can honestly say that he was not alone much like that war and like this one it is overdue in being over I do support our troops but not this war like the saying you can lead a horse to water but cannot make them drink this does describe the middle east sometimes people need to stand up for themselves and we cannot expect the people in the middle east to establish a government much like ours historically they are a warring country and you cannot change that in what almost 8 years which by the way was only planned to be for 1 year. I fear that our country has run astray under the Bush administration and as McCain has backed Bush in 90% of the prior issues I feel that the only change that we can make is in the opposite direction that we are in now and frankly I have no faith in Palin she has less exprience than Obama, I think that Obama will open doors that McCain will only keep shut and I don't really trust someone who won't give direct eye contact and during a speech only talks about what Obama says not what he himself plans to change, but alas this is a rather heated topic and at this point anything is better than Bush ..Jussome background on me my father was with special ops and intell. for over 40 years and is still working with the pentagon and he has really opened my eyes to some of the stuff that goes on in washington government is just big business and in the last 8 years it hasn't been about the people but either way it needs to be about the people because we are the ones paying the price look what it has done to us so far homeless, jobless,in debt no medical...

Your fear is understandable only because you have been misled. A president can't ban abortion. Sure, he can appoint pro-life judges to the SCOTUS and they can overturn R v W. But guess what? Over turning that horrible ruling won't make abortion illegal. All it does is kick the issue back to EACH 50 STATE legislatures for them to decide as it should have been done before the SCOTUS decided to legislate from the bench. And here's a lil history lesson. Back in '72 abortion was legal in ~70% of the states including California. And guess what Governor made abortion "legal" in California? It will shock you. It was none other than RONALD REGAN. Yes, he understood that's what the people wanted in his state. But what he didn't want is the FEDERAL Government getting involved. He understood it was up to the states to decide and not the US FEDERAL Government. I bet your girlfriends in NOW and NARAL never told you that. If a woman wants to suck a baby out of her womb because she was careless (and that's the majority of abortions) that's her business and her financial concern. I nor you shouldn't have to pay for it. Keep the government out of it and let the decision, be it mental and financial, up to the woman or any generous donors who want to fund a killing factory. I am hoping that if Obama becomes the first Marxist president that he'll appoint Bill Clinton as the Surgeon General so that he can show that giving a lewinsky is the best form of birth control ever (though it might add to the her dry cleaning bill).
:)

Sorry that you have been lied to. And btw, you can't do what ever you want to your body. Try selling your kidney.

Abortion was suppose to be rare, safe and legal. It's only legal as it's not safe nor rare.

I'm 100% in agreement with you! But where's the supporting documentation? You know the liberal media will twist words of this nature to suit their Pollyanna agenda and the lethargic democrats in our nation will just follow the pied piper. I am quite proud to be a supporter of McCain. Unlike some of my friends who choose to keep their opinions to themselves.

Fortunately, John McCain has many more supporters than the Democrats will ever know... until election day.

Thanks for sharing what I could not put into words.

Wow, Caleb... my respect for you and Boot to Head records just went plummeting. Not because you're supporting McCain, even, but because you have the onus to go throwing your weight as a representative of the Kingdom behind this political nonsense.

I honestly thought you guys were above all this left-wing/right-wing bullcrap. Whoever wins, we lose. Bottom line.

On the contrary, Im really happy to have heard this - ANYTHING - about McCain. Everything in the UK media has been about Obama, like its a sealed deal. NO coverage of McCain at all.

I think ultimately all politicians are as bad as each other, and I dont know where the rest of the Mysterons stand, but its been good to hear some information.

I applaud you for feeling that you needed to step out and voice your opinion for this election.

At the Presidental level, this election is about one thing to me ... Who will guard and draw this nation closer to God in the Justices he will appoint and in the executive decisions he makes? For all of you who read this, Please make this the one deciding factor.

This election is also so much more ... Congress, State and Local choices. People! --- think, pray, and vote.

ALSO, Please do not cast a vote based on hate. I have listened to too many people say that they are going to vote for [insert obvious name here] because they hate George Bush. HEY, NEWS FLASH ... George isn't running!! and the congress isn't controlled by George Bush!!

Everyone seems to have forgotten the early days of Punk - when Jimmy Carter laid the threat of IRS Audits of any major labels that continued to release Punk records; or that Tipper Gore (wife of neo-envirofascist, Al) made a fairly successful effort to sanitize all forms of Rock'nRoll in the 1980s. Of course, the lying Left-sing media calls their PMRC a 'Conservative' organization.

Democrats depend on the ignorance of the masses, but the fact is that common sense still exists. I live in the Uber-Left East Village, and when I've had recent discussions with friends, on the street - there's almost always been some Homeless, Black man who's overheard me ripping Obama apart, and he'll come up and say something like, "It's about time some of you white folk saw through Obama's bullshit.
"

Just get ready - when Leftists lose, it isn't a pretty sight.
