
DAY 26's Willie Taylor Honored in Hometown on Independence Day
HARVEY, IL – Coming off the hills of a the Best New Group BET Award nomination, DAY 26 is set to be honored once again in Harvey, Ill. The small town is home to member Willie Taylor. The city is also honoring July 4, 2008 as "Day 26" day. The 6th annual 4th of July "Pride in Harvey" parade and festival will designate 149th street as Willie Madison Taylor III Street. The Harvey native of the quintet grew up nearby the street that is being named after him.
DAY 26 will add to the annual festivities by performing in Taylor's hometown. "It really means a lot to me that the folks in my community are supporting me in this way," I am excited to bring the guys to my hometown and we are all looking forward to performing," said Taylor of his honor from the Mayor of Harvey.
DAY 26 was introduced to the world by Bad Boy's top executive, Sean "Diddy" Combs, last August. The group debuted their first album at no. 1 on the billboard charts and has been recognized with a BET Award nomination and a Teen Choice Award nomination. The group recently released there next single "Since You've Been Gone" this month.
