Dear Lava Loungers,

Would like to thank you for 13 eventful years! We're hoping you'll share at least one last potent tropical cocktail with us before we close our rather singed door at the end of February. For you Blue Hawaiians fans, they will be performing a final show, the 23rd of that month.

Over the next two months we will be having many of our all time favorite bands from recent years, so please come visit us and say "aloha". You will be amongst the privileged few to hear the very latest on all news regarding the new bar inhabiting the Lava space, and be invited down for an advanced preview. Very exciting indeed!

Mahalo so very much! We loved having you. Just time to reinvent...and return to my original vision for this wonderful locale, a sharp little cocktail LOUNGE.

Very sad and yet exciting, Lava was a place that was home in Los Angeles, I miss all of you, Gary, Alex, Stacey, Michelle and Hiko and so many others that would have the music play me off stage to mention. If you look closely you'll see your names spelled out in this comment.

So whats the new place called?

This is sad news.  The Lava Lounge was one of my favorite places to play when I was in The Transmissions.  Also, my girlfriend and I shared our first kiss in the men's bathroom.  You and your bar are awesome.  I'm definitely going to enjoy a few more Coronas there before the end.  I hope I see you there.

I think re-invention is a bad idea in this case. The Lava Lounge is the coolest club in Hollywood, now what, another lame hipster bar ? There's something to be said for sticking with a great concept, but I guess the Lava will be relegated to "hey, remember that place ?" status. How lame.

At least there are the Blue Hawaiians records recorded there to keep the memory.
