Well, after all our hard work collecting over 11,000 Voices for Darfur, I'm finally going to deliver the 9,000 US voices to the Senate. My flight leaves tomorrow at 11AM, and I'm not sure I'll get to sleep before then. Still need to pack, pay my rent, rent a car, compile a fact sheet on Darfur for the Senators and print out 150 business cards among other things.
Robyn and Jocee will be meeting me in DC, as well as Maia_M our film maker, who will be there to document the event. So stay tuned for a video...
It seems strange when I started out a little over a year ago all I had was a Myspace profile. I put up some info on Darfur and started randomly adding people. Now I'm working with a public relations professional, a film maker and a political consultant. Not really sure how it all happened. The most rewarding part has been meeting so many of you...
Wish us luck, we're going to make sure your voices are heard by the Senate and do everything possible to make a difference.
