Well, after all our hard work collecting over 11,000 Voices for Darfur, I'm finally going to deliver the 9,000 US voices to the Senate. My flight leaves tomorrow at 11AM, and I'm not sure I'll get to sleep before then. Still need to pack, pay my rent, rent a car, compile a fact sheet on Darfur for the Senators and print out 150 business cards among other things.

Robyn and Jocee will be meeting me in DC, as well as Maia_M our film maker, who will be there to document the event. So stay tuned for a video...

It seems strange when I started out a little over a year ago all I had was a Myspace profile. I put up some info on Darfur and started randomly adding people. Now I'm working with a public relations professional, a film maker and a political consultant. Not really sure how it all happened. The most rewarding part has been meeting so many of you...

Wish us luck, we're going to make sure your voices are heard by the Senate and do everything possible to make a difference.

I've quoted this Margaret Mead quote so many times, but I just have to do it again: "A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Best wishes to you on your journey, John! Congratulations on that campaign's success and thanks again for all your dedication. I hope for the day when I can offer more help.

Mothers Walking for Others

Hello, first I would like to wish you good luck on your trip to Washington. My voice is one of the messages going with you. I am with a group called Mothers Walking for Others and we are walking 300 miles from Dunedin, Fl to Key Largo, Fl to spread the message about Darfur. I am inspired by you and think that your trip and efforts is amazing. I was wondering if you will be blogging about your trip so that our group can follow your adventures in Washington and share is your successes?
I wish you the very best of luck.

One Last Hope

I'm so grateful that you're here giving your time for such an important and urgent cause. For you to say that all you started with was a myspace page, just gives me so much hope in what I want to aspire too. I have many many HUGE plans for how I want to help the world once I'm out of school and have the mile marker done with. I think myspace will definitely help me promote the goodness that I want to. Thank you for doing this for the people of Darfur. I think because of people like u we will see some real change in many problem areas in this country and elsewhere soon.
