RANDY KOHRS & THE LITES TURN REBELS FOR VIDEO SHOOT

Rising Acoustic Stars Get Caught "Guerilla" Filming For Upcoming Single

Nashville, TN-

One might think that Randy Kohrs & The Lites, an up-and-coming, chart-topping, all-acoustic band known mostly for their more bluegrass-oriented sound might be considered rebellious for their desire to break out of the pigeon-holed genre by having drums and wide-ranging material on the latest solo release by Kohrs on Rural Rhythm Records, Old Photograph.  Kohrs is a world-renowned resophonic guitarist, or Dobro player, and all-around A-list session musician and vocalist (The Wreckers, Little Big Town, Jim Lauderdale, Dierks Bentley, Alabama, Dolly Parton, Randy Travis,  & hundreds more), songwriter, producer (Grammy-nominated), and engineer.  However, the band's anarchy reached an entirely different level on Sunday when they resorted to "guerilla" filming during their video shoot for the next single, "Who's Goin' With Me."

Under the highly-experienced direction of Harold Jarboe of Bell-Jarboe Productions, the weekend-long event went smoothly, even in the extreme heat, with all the desired scenes making it to film.  The song, somewhat ironically, is a vivid story about a boy and his crush on a Preacher's daughter, played by 15 year-old mandolin prodigy Sierra Hull.  To "stand by his daughter" following a tent revival, the young man finds himself in line for baptism, where he's later held under water just a little longer than it takes to cleanse his soul.  His life is transformed in more ways than he intended and he asks everyone else, as the chorus goes, "who's goin' with me down to the water?"  Those scenes, among many of the RKL performance scenes, took place, with permission, on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN.  Special cameo appearances were also made by other artists such as legendary singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale, whose upcoming CD was produced by Randy Kohrs, country artist Pam Tillis, co-writer of the song and MuzikMafia member Shannon Lawson, and Universal recording artist Waylon Payne, who also happened to portray Jerry Lee Lewis in the award-winning film Walk The Line.

While scouting around for another location, a rather out-of-place, boarded-up brick historical house on 35 beautiful acres was discovered just down the road from the lake on a main Hendersonville thoroughfare.  With a "For Sale" (not a "No Trespassing) sign at the entrance, a cedar-lined drive, and a porch that couldn't look anymore like the perfect stage, the director and band alike immediately saw the potential.  A monument on the property marking the graves of an American Revolutionary soldier and his wife sealed the deal.  Beginning in the late afternoon until the sun was nearly gone, the crew cleaned up the area of broken glass and the cameras caught scenes of the boy and girl flirting among the cedars, the band playing on the "stage," and the instruments placed on the monument as a potential closing shot.  All the while, nervous eyes watched the long drive.  At one point, an unknown vehicle pulled up, and, much to the amusement of all involved, left disappointed as they thought they had stumbled on to a bluegrass festival!

Leaving the place actually cleaner than when they arrived, the band members began to drive off of the property, a mere five minutes behind the film crew.  Just as the first car nearly turned onto the main road, two law-enforcement vehicles blocked them in.  Hearts pounded as "fearless leader" Randy Kohrs got out of his vehicle and tried his best to explain the situation, handing over his own information to one officer as the other took a look around the property.  Several other law enforcement vehicles could be seen surrounding the property, waiting to blaze in at a moment's notice.  After more than ten minutes of innocently pleading his case, Kohrs convinced them it was for the sake of a Gospel video, handed them both a copy of Old Photograph, assuring them it was not a bribe, he and the rest of the band were allowed to leave, and a huge sigh of relief was breathed by all.

The video will be completed by the end of the month and released on internet and television shortly thereafter.  www.randykohrs.net, myspace.com/randykohrs
