Category: Life

Life is very interesting; you just don't know how things will work out. You can plan but it does not necessarily turn out the way you want it to be.

A lot has happen since my last update in here. Now sitting at one corner in Starbucks – Great Eastern Mall on Jalan Ampang, me with my laptop and a cold, Grande size Green Tea Frappuccino top off with think whip cream and blackberry sauce. Just nice for this typical Malaysian warm weather - I think I am ready to try to recollect and put in writing plus picture of my ending to the year 2007.

(Clap clap clap…)

UNCLE !

I am going to start with me being an uncle. Last November 07 my sister gave birth to a strong, healthy and beautiful baby girl. I know to some of you may think it is not a big deal but this is my first time being an uncle. Plus it feels weird to have to clean, bathe, feed and put a baby to sleep once again. My last time was when I had to take care of my youngest sister and that was like 14 years ago. I myself am surprise that I can still take care of a new-born baby.

(One month old)

(Her name is Aida)

Taking care of little Aida is tiring and taking a lot of my time but it makes me feel good. Have always like children and will always love them.

PALM OIL PROJECT

Since I got back from Dublin, I have been managing Palm Oil project on my father's land. I manage and monitor the development from the clearing of the land to mapping the water irrigation system and maintaining the accounts to selecting the baby plants. It is not a big project but with proper management and care, we could yield profits in 3 years time.

(All the cleared land area to be planted with palm oil tree)

(Irrigation system, more land view, baby palm oil trees)

Work has been a little bit slow as this land is situated in the state of Terengganu. In the month of December, January and February Terengganu is one of the states in Malaysia heavily hit by the monsoon season. Having said that the amount of work done is satisfying to my standards anyway.

(Baby tree has been planted. Now just to maintain for the next 3 years)

OWN APARTMENT

Yay! Finally after all these years I signed a Sales Purchase agreement for a luxury apartment, located 30 minutes drive from KL. It is called Platinum Hill PV8 in Taman Melati Utama. The development will be completed by end of 2009. The unit I bought is the biggest with 1,800 sq feet, 3 + 1 bedroom, 2 baths, walking closet for master bedroom (it's a must for me), gym, pool, security and the whole load. Feeling very good now and every time I think about my future apartment, it gives me that butterfly feeling in my stomach.

PROJECTS

The decision made and the life change I am going thru now is a breath of fresh air. I am enjoying my life every minute just doing what I want to do without any feeling of restriction or bound to anything. I am not in a 9 to 5 job and I have decided not to look for one. Instead I am working on a few projects together with few people in my circle of connections. Below is just a few of the projects other than the Palm Oil project that I am handling for my father.

Skin Care Health Products. This project is a join partnership with my god-mother, manufacturing skin care products mainly made out of goat's milk fat. I was already part of this project even before I went to Dublin. Now that I am back I have few ideas and improvements to implement and make a come-back into the market. Our first production will be ready for the market end of Feb 2008.

Training Seminar for School. This project will be in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia to introduce attitude awareness to primary and secondary school children. My father, another partner and me is still in the process of composing few modules for this training.

Event Planner. This project is still at discussion stage. The idea pops up in my head when I realise that each of my close friends possesses different skills, knowledge, talent and connections which when put together we can definitely work something out just as a side income for all of us. At the moment we are thinking of a small scale event organiser or wedding planner type of business.

X – MAS 2007 (25th December 2007)

Christmas this year is the first time I celebrated in a different way. For the last couple of years I have been celebrating with a friend of mine and his family in Dublin – Christmas Eve dinner, turkey/lamb roast, presents, hugs and kisses – the whole load. Missing those times already.

Anyway, this year I and a group of my very very close friends went for a picnic in the jungle by a river. What an interesting way to have fun on Christmas day. It was my idea to go for a BBQ Picnic and I got a lot of support from all of my friends. So, we had a couple of meetings and put our heads together preparing for this picnic.

It was predicted that there will be rain on X-Mas day and we were worried but it turn out that morning was bright, perfect day. Eleven of us went for the picnic in 3 cars, we all got up really early even thou some of my friends are not a morning person.

(Getting ready for the Bbq)

The river is located not far from Kay Ell city, just 45 minutes drive north of KL on the way to Genting Highland (Malaysian Las Vegas). The area is called Ulu Yam Bahru and the river is Sendat River. We have to pass thru the Ulu Yam small town, a small chinese village and a local native village at the edge of the jungle. At one stage we all were a bit unnerve because we all thought this couldn't be the right route to the river. It was like one of the scene in that 'Wrong Turn' movie. We even stopped once asking direction from a creepy old chinese guy, just like that creepy guy at the petrol station in that movie. Anyway, we did arrived at the location and choose our spot by the river which is secluded and private from other picnickers.

The water was very nice, not too cold and just perfect for the heat of the day. We brought with us plenty of food. We had fried noodles, drummets, nuggets, bbq lamb and chicken drumsticks, etc. The day was all about dipping into the water, out for some food then in again into the water. Maybe out for a few hundreds picture taking then in again into the water. No time constrain, no rush, no hurry – just relaxed, chilling and having fun in the nature with fresh air among very close long time friends.

SHOP, SPEND, FUN – KL (27th December 2007)

The following day, after our X-Mas picnic, for 2 days me and my friends just spend our time in KL for shopping, hair saloon and having fun.

KL is a great place as a city. You just need to know what to do and where to go. It is a shopping paradise that is for sure.

The plan was all my friend wants to bring me shopping, to re-style and colour my hair, to refresh me to all the cool places for hang-out in KL and to get me ready for another friend's themed birthday party.

We started from The Curve to Lot 10. From Lot 10 to Sungei Wang and KLCC then from KLCC to The Pavilion (pictures).

FUTSAL (28th December 2007)

Other than shopping and hanging out at Starbucks or Coffee Beans café, we are also aware the importance of sports. (ehem.. hahahaha). But seriously we did when and played futsal (indoor soccer). We called every available friend including my brother to join and play futsal with us.

Only during the game I realised that I am not fit at all, not like the last time. Life with no sport in Dublin for the last 7 years really ruins my stamina. I was so unfit and had to stop after the first 15 minutes of the game for a rest. That's it for this New Year I have to start going back to the gym and build up my stamina and shape up my body. Ha ha ha.

THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY

MODEL SEARCH 2007 (29th December 2007)

I met Andre and the gang thru Hardy about 2 years ago when I came back to KL for a 2 weeks holiday + my sister's wedding. We have been keeping in-touch since but only over MySpace. It is only after I came back to KL last September that we starts meet up regularly.

Andre and the gang are known for the parties they organised. So for Andre's birthday party this year they decided to use 'Model Search' as the party theme. All invited guess are supposed to come to the party mimicking a super model. Very exciting!

It was a private party with fashion show, model search contest, fun games and lucky draws. About 50 people arrived to the party and out of which 10 people will be selected by the committee for the Model Search Contest.

The party was brilliant; there were foods and free flow of drinks. The fashion show was interesting in a good way. They paraded two collections, The Sleek and The Sexy.

NIGHT OUTTING (30th December 2007)

Since I got back to KL I have been going out to clubbing quite a lot. Every week I went out and sometimes 3 to 4 times in a week. There are few places have becomes my regular but I often got invited as special guess or VIP to few other bars and clubs.

This one time (on 19th December) I was invited by my friend to a Spice Girls Wannabe competition held in Orange Club. The contestants were hilarious and I laughed whole night during the show. After that I and my friends conquered the podium and dance all night long.

Anyway on the 30th December, once again I was invited with few of my friends to Bar Club on Heritage Row in KL. A table was reserved for us and it was a Kylie night.

We had good fun there but we did not stay for the rest of the night. We left the club early and check-in into a presidential suite in The Prince Hotel. The plan was to view the fireworks display from this room on the 31st December.

After checking the room, around 3.00 am we drove to the nearest 24 hours KFC and takeaway back to the hotel room. I know it is not healthy but we had fun eating, talking and planning for tomorrow New Year's Eve.

NEW YEAR'S EVE (31st December 2007)

It's the New Year's Eve, how fast the time flies. Me and my friends started the day by queuing for the so-called best donuts in town. J.Co Donuts & Coffee are premium donut and coffee brand with internationally quality, offering unique and original mixed flavour of donuts and beverages and trust me their donuts are different. The texture is so soft and light that you feel as if you are biting on a cloud instead of a donut. What better way to start a day – sharing the J.Co way.

The plan was to meet up in Sunway Pyramid Mall for an ice-skating game. While waiting for others to arrive, we hang around in J.Co enjoying our delicious donuts. Later we found out the ice-skating ring was packed with people – so change of plan we head to The Times Square for a game or two of bowling. The last time I played bowling was back few years ago in Phuket, Thailand.

After bowling, we rushed home to get changed and come back into town for dinner at The Carat Club in Pavilion, Jalan Bukit Bintang. The restaurant is nice, posh and stylish. We dine in between crystal-ware and jewelleries on display.

We finished our dinner around 9.30pm and we still have plenty of time to the countdown for New Year. So we all went to Green Lotus Restaurant to just hang, chill and drink. The last time I was in Green Lotus was back when I stopped in KL for 3 days with a friend from Dublin before we head to Bali, Indonesia.

Again there was another change of plan. We were supposed to do our countdown in the presidential room in The Prince Hotel and view the fireworks display from there. But one of my friend decided that the view is not good enough, therefore we moved to another hotel – The Westin for a duplex penthouse room.

It struck me with all this dining in fancy restaurant and countdown towards the New Year in penthouse hotel room with the skyline view of KL – I feel like I am a member of top elite socialite people. What a great way to end the year 2007 and start the new year 2008.

Well guys, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 !!! I wish you all good fortune, prosperity and long life. May all your dreams for the New Year materialise.

I LOVE YOU ALL…

Thank you with love, Wardy Dylan Noor.
