......did I go to the store looking for bok choy (apparently in high demand this week because I had to go THREE stores to find it) and walk out having spent $100 ?
How ?
Well lets just see....
Bok choy. Check. (Finally.)
Ginger, green onions. (Needed those for the dish that I needed the bok choy for.
Fresh salsa. (We were out and I use it on everything.)
(guess I needed a little more than just the bok choy. I just didn't remember I needed it until I saw it...)
Snow crab legs, 3 pds. (They were $2.99 a pound !! How can you pass up that deal ?!?)
Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy. Hoisin sauce. (again, needed for the recipe. Ok. Ok. I just needed the hoisin, but I was OUT of the soy sauce.)
Tortillas.
Old Ortega "stand n stuff" taco dinner kit. ("Ooooh, tacos would be a good dinner idea for the kids !" I honestly didn't realize that it was a kit, thought it was just the taco shells. I make my own taco seasoning..)
Better go get some ground beef. Oh yeah and bread, we need bread (we didn't, we had almost a whole loaf). Oh and that's right, I need to get a birthday card ! You see where this is going ?
Kool aid. (4 for $1 and it will keep the jackals out of my Cran-Grape juice)
Sprite & Coke.
Pringles. (kids lunch snacks)
Standing in line at the checkout. Waiting.
"Oooh Jack Links.." (Anyone who knows me knows that I have a weakness for jerky/summer sausage/slim jims, etc. I blame my Dad.) 1 pack of sausage bites and 2 snack packs (it has cheese AND pretzels to go with the meat !) into the cart.
"Oh would you look at that, candy is on sale, BOGO...." Take 5 bar and peanut M&M's (for the man).
"Wow I am really thirsty, let me just grab this bottle of water...."
And the grand total...$102.44.
Damn Harris Teeter.......
PS: This is the dish that I was making, and it was dee-eeeeeee-licious !
