Current mood:  restless

Today is exactly one week to the first of two Lucy Lawless Live concerts at the famous Roxy nightclub in Hollywood!  Here is Lucy's first entry of her Countdown To The Roxy blog!  Let the fun begin!

I am freaking out because I can't start working with the musicians till next week.  I will have literally 2 days rehearsal; to test the keys, edit the shape and endings of songs.  The tone of each is very synergistic, which means wanting to have all the elements jamming together.

I have sat for three weeks turning into a fricking pudding.  Now that the holidays are t-e-r-m-i-n-a-t-e-d I am rearing to go but there's no one to play with.

Oh god, i have to get in shape (i.e. lose 10 lbs of fat-bastardness), get cozzies sorted, work on publicity campaign, trying to get single remastered & produced into CD.

And hell, mustn't forget about my acting career.  Big eps of Battlestar coming up.  And press want to cover it.  I love the way my stint as D'Anna wrapped up.  Those guys are genius.

Wow, that sounds so exciting.  I know as a musician what it's like to have "the itch".  Break a leg at the Roxy, and I'll be buying the cd.

Rock on Lucy!!

Lucy,

After watching your performances on Celebrity Duets, I am so sure that you will be just fine.  You have incredible talent and everyone can see that.  Remember this: your audience will be the people who have been your faithful fans for a very long and those that are just finding out who you are and absolutely love you. You are familiar with alot of these people so think of it as a big family gathering just for you. I wish that I were able to see your show, but, alas, I was unable to be a part of it THIS time.  Once you blow the roof of the Roxy, head to Florida and blow it off here!!

Best of luck to you,

Rhonda

Lucy you will be great. I know you will. I wish that I could go and see you perform, but I can't miss out on my classes. My school is very strict on missing hours. The best of luck. I hope that I will be able to see you live sometime soon. Take care and like I said before, you will be great.

Much love,

Jose

P.S. Just remember to relax. You'll be just fine.

But I will say good luck, and many, many thoughts and wishes of a great blow-out event will be with you.  I can't wait until your CD gets produced, I can guarentee I'll be first in line in my section of Missouri to get it.  Good Luck!!  Kathy

Hi Lucy.

Just some words of encouragement from Holland.

I just did the lightshow for a friends music project debut and we were all nervous as h***.

Because of that a lot went wrong, BUT....       The people in the hal didn't notice a thing of all the things that didn't go as should have. We had a big applause at the end of the show, we all worked very hard to get the show together in just a few weeks. (x-mas included in the timespace we had)

I see you are working really hard and also have a lot of professional help to put your show together, so relax and enjoy your moment of glory. The thing that always calms me before or/and after a show (I also play bass in a band) is a coke 'n bacardi rum. (also good for pre-show headaches lol) Somehow that stuff calms the worst of my jitters.

Just try to concentrate on rehearsels and not to think about the showday, or think root canal is waaaay worse. ;o) I know you'll break the house down. Go get 'em girl!!!

Hey Lucy,

First off, Stress just gives ya a headache. Just do your best and everything will be fine. We are all behind you and we know how great everything will turn out. Wish I could be there,  but, Michigan is a long way away.  I will continue to support you whenever and however possible. Keep up the great work and I hope  you feel better soon.

Lucy, I saw you on your opening night at the Roxy and you totally rocked the house!  You were in fine form and it's an experience I'll never forget!  It was my first convention, and to see you in concert on your debut was awsome even if I did get an elbow in the eye!  I think your an awsome actress and singer!  Keep on rockin Babe!  P.S.   Please come to Florida on your tour!
