some of them play fine and some of them don't.
the jacket didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped
and most of the cd's have a few fingerprints on them.
According to the guy who put me in touch with the pressing company, "this is all normal for a mix cd and customers expect these sorts of problems with a mix cd, at least that's how it is in the states" according to him.
I don't know if I buy that.
Well anyways I'm not gonna stock the album in shops in Japan anymore, because of the risks involved with selling a less than perfect album. People here are perfectionists, as am I.
At first I intended to listen to all 200 cd's myself and then just sell the ones that played fine but on second though, that ain't gon happen. I have about an hour of free time a day, and even if I listened to an album a day, everyday, it'll still take me 7 months to get though them all.
So here's the deal if anybody wants a copy, I'm gonna sell them like this:
2 copies for 1500 yen in Japan. and 2 copies for 10 dollars in the states. and similar rates for other coutries. we can work that out, just holla! all shipping costs are on me.
why 2? you're prolly askin yourself. this ain't pizza katagi! is what you're prolly thinking. the reason is because with 2 cd's, one of them is gonna work, and if it doesn't I will give you a full refund including a functional cd. (yes, I will sit down for an hour to make sure it plays fine). you had to wait, I should have to pay a price for that.
it might sound expensive for a less than perfect cd, but cd's in Japan usually sell for 3000yen each. and mix cd's for 1500yen. so it ain't a rip off. you get 16 tracks featuring the best bilingual mc (ok.. ok.. top 3) in Japan and the best producers in the world (yes, in the world). and oh yeah (it isn't really a mix cd, all tracks are original with a capital O!).
as far as the quality of the music, it's the best fuckin hip-hop album in Japan right now. Period. Your favourite Japanese mc just pissed his pants. That's how nasty it is.
Right now I already have an order for 25 cd's from a shop in Taiwan (NO.9 Records - http://www.west-u.com/) , and since they were cool enough to promote my album to the fullest, I will make sure they have 25 funcional cd's that are shiny like the rims on the car I wish I had. If you live in Taiwan, No.9 Records is the best and only place for real hip-hop!!!!!!!!!!
in other words, the printing company ain't giving me a discount and ain't giving me 200 new cd's. I'm pissed off but I'm not gonna let that bother me too much. I will move on and try to make the best of this situation.
so if anyone wants to know what's happenin in Japanese hip-hop right now. order a cd. or two.
