Friends,

It would have to happen on Easter Sunday, wouldn’t it, that the 4,000th American soldier would die in Iraq. Play me that crazy preacher again, will you, about how maybe God, in all his infinite wisdom, may not exactly be blessing America these days. Is anyone surprised?

4,000 dead. Unofficial estimates are that there may be up to 100,000 wounded, injured, or mentally ruined by this war. And there could be up to a million Iraqi dead. We will pay the consequences of this for a long, long time. God will keep blessing America.

And where is Darth Vader in all this? A reporter from ABC News this week told Dick Cheney, in regards to Iraq, "two-thirds of Americans say it’s not worth fighting." Cheney cut her off with a one word answer: "So?"

"So?" As in, "So what?" As in, "F*** you. I could care less."

I would like every American to see Cheney flip the virtual bird at the them, the American people. Click here http://thinkprogress.org/2008/03/19/cheney-poll-iraq/ and pass it around. Then ask yourself why we haven’t risen up and thrown him and his puppet out of the White House.

The Democrats have had the power to literally pull the plug on this war for the past 15 months -- and they have refused to do so. What are we to do about that? Continue to sink into our despair? Or get creative? Real creative. I know there are many of you reading this who have the chutzpah and ingenuity to confront your local congressperson. Will you? For me?

Cheney spent Wednesday, the 5th anniversary of the war, not mourning the dead he killed, but fishing off the Sultan of Oman’s royal yacht. So? Ask your favorite Republican what they think of that.

The Founding Fathers would never have uttered the presumptuous words, "God Bless America." That, to them, sounded like a command instead of a request, and one doesn’t command God, even if they are America. In fact, they were worried God would punish America. During the Revolutionary War, George Washington feared that God would react unfavorably against his soldiers for the way they were behaving. John Adams wondered if God might punish America and cause it to lose the war, just to prove His point that America was not worthy. They and the others believed it would be arrogant on their part to assume that God would single out America for a blessing. What a long road we have traveled since then.

I see that Frontline on PBS this week has a documentary called "Bush’s War." That’s what I’ve been calling it for a long time. It’s not the "Iraq War." Iraq did nothing. Iraq didn’t plan 9/11. It didn’t have weapons of mass destruction. It DID have movie theaters and bars and women wearing what they wanted and a significant Christian population and one of the few Arab capitals with an open synagogue.

But that’s all gone now. Show a movie and you’ll be shot in the head. Over a hundred women have been randomly executed for not wearing a scarf. I’m happy, as a blessed American, that I had a hand in all this. I just paid my taxes, so that means I helped to pay for this freedom we’ve brought to Baghdad. So? Will God bless me?

God bless all of you in this Easter Week as we begin the 6th year of Bush’s War.

God help America. Please.

Mr Moore

Im a 43 yr old American who has fought since childhood to stop these rich old white guys from killing people in other countries who havent done an effing thing to our nation & there seems to be no end in sight.

Ive give up on the Dems fuck them, Im writing you & Roseanne Barr in for president come Nov.
As much as I despise Dr Evil and Mini me and everything they have done to ruin our nation beyond repair, Im more pissed @ the Dems for rolling over & playing dead & playing along with this shit sham.

HILLARY CLINTON WILL NOT STOP THE WAR. BARACK OBAMA WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THIS WAR. THIS "WAR" IS THE CLOSEST THING WE HAVE TO AN ECONOMY NOW , SAVE FOR PHARMACEUTICALS & PRISONS. MCCAIN / ROMNEY WILL SURGE FURTHER INTO IRAN , IGNORING THE WARNINGS OF CHINA AND RUSSIA & PLUNGE US INTO WW III.

The full effects of Bush/Cheney's horrible legacy wont be completely felt until they are both "gone fishin" on some Billionaire Oil Magnates yacht.
and , like any true psychopathic criminals, they wont leave office until they pull one more job on the American People.
that is, if they leave @ all, we are another phony terrorist attack & a pen stroke away from Martial Law.

Im so disgusted with everything here in the US. Nobody can or will stop them. the time for swift decisive action on both of these shitfucks that ruined planet earth is long past due. Nothing to do but wait and watch on how God will continue to "bless" America for our lovely actions both here @ home and abroad.
The UN refuses to stop Bush/ Cheney, the American people are so brainwiped by the constant barrage of corporate bullshit they dont know WHAT to believe.

NOthing to do but just watch it all unfold in front of our very , Granny always said ,"too late to shut the barn door once the cow gets out .

and now I think back to that day in 2000 , when the American people said "OK , enough with all this pooh-pooh'ing over who is gonna be president, I want my soap operas and my football game back on TV , enough, Let him have it , I mean really whats the WORST that could happen by just letting Junior have 4 yrs in the white house?

On this day, after the 4000th American soldier is killed and Iraq lies in ruins , I am truly ashamed to be called an American. NOT ME. NOT MY WAR. NOT MY PRESIDENT.

An entire 8-year administration summed up in one word.

I suppose if we were on the floor of Congress, he would have told us to do what he told Patrick Leahy to do. But saying "So?" was basically the same thing.

301 days left, my friends. Let's just hope we don't get Bush term 3 with McCain.

I couldn't agree with you more Mike
I am American and am currently living in Portugal and I find this war so unbelievable, but it angers me even more that we are still at war.
When I explain how we AMERICANS are to people here, I keep wanting to eat my words because of this war - I talk about how it's the place where if you are original and hard working you can be sucessfull, and how we are so open and powerful as a country of great people...
Yet this war has everyone looking at me like I'm from another planet...
I don't understand how amoung so many lives taken (and those affected by a manufactor war, solidiers or non solidiers) we aren't not only taking a stand but STOPPING it - we have the ability to stop the country completly - let alone stop the war!
I'm tired of seeing Bush and company on the TV and hiding my face in my hands just knowing something stupid and harsh will be said. You just know it's going to happen... and it's just sad.
And here I congrat you Mike - when I talk about my America that is strong and well educated, I talk about you. I respect and admire your actions and your courage makes us courageous too. Everyone loves you here and values your effort to speak the truth!
Keep going Mike and we will too.

Look on the bright side (lol) - Bush is finnally leaving! We didn't throw him out, but our laws finnally did! And now we'll need at least another 8 years to try to fix all the damage...

I think it interesting to note that this could be construed as the decade of Bush's War. One might say that we have been in Bush Wars since the early 90's. I would also ask you Mr. Moore, what you may think about this statement: Every major dimplomatic change in the last 30 years has been the product of capitalist endeavors in the oil industry. I am interested in your reply.

I would also like to state that I am in full favor of putting lapel microphones and cameras on ALL politicians. They should be worn the ENITRE length of their term, whether in their private lives or during "business hours". After all - we did not ask any of our politicians to run for office - this is a life they chose and should therefore include an abdication of their privacy while in office. This feed should be directed to a public network with access available to all United States citizens. Perhaps if our politicians were held accountable for all of their actions while in office, well... I think the idea speaks for itself.

I am a big Hillary Clinton supporter because I trust her Health Care plan more than Obamas.
I believe she will end this war! I just don't think Obama will make the right change in health care / It sounds like more welfare that middle class will have to continue to pay...
I don't think he will get the people he needs around him to end the war.

8 years of Bush? We, the American people, are fucked. And we shall continue to suffer the repercussions of his lawless, arrogant, and harmful administration long after he is gone. My prediction is that one day we will be nuked by someone getting back at us because of his doings. Why did the American people let him get away with this? The world blames each and every one of us.

Had Gore taken his rightful place, we would have been fighting global warming, earning friends left and right, and the so called "terrorist" problem could have disappeared or successfully been neutralized through espionage rather than a war that ravages us economically, has killed over a million Iraqis, and daily creates more people who hate us as if we were a devil, willing to sacrifice their own lives to destroy us.

American people, WE have to fix this thing ASAP.

Some of them agree with what you say, some of them don't, but the constant is that you get them talking, thinking, and maybe even reconsidering how they view the world.

Less continuity with one another? Less compassion for others? Less Love for yourself? Should we rename Planet Earth to Planet ME? The EGO planet?

Too many people want to be told what to do and file in by the herds.

As DICK Cheney, The Chief Herder himself says, "So?." (hard to give a shit when you fish off yachts and never have to worry about money or power again.)

I love how you aren't afraid to to say what's on your mind, not afraid to point out the flaws, but at the same time, peaceful protests on myspace arent the way to do it!....WE NEED TO RALLY UP! WE NEED TO BE RADICAL!!!! ALL OF US NEED TO RALLY UP LIKE THEY DID WITH THE WAR IN 'NAM!.....This is not gonna work just DAY DREAMING about fixing things, or having "talks" with people...we need to SHOW them that peace is the ONLY option.... we dont NEED guns to make a point...OUR VOICE IS OUR WEAPON AS TOGETHER WE CAN STOP THIS BICKERING AND FIGHTING!!!!!

i am afraid mr. moore, that this country will not see change through diplomacy..nothing will change unless we MAKE it..diplomacy, caipital, paper work...everyone in our system right now is so caught up with there own interests that the american people, the american working class are looked at only as either potential enemys, or potential cosumers...BUY OR DIE! essentialy....your movies always made me feel like voting and talking and debating and voting local makes changes, but after being active..and resaerching what actually brings forth positive change, is blunt force liberation..and simply put, can you imagine what would happen if 50 percent of americans stoped watching TV, or stoped shopping at walmart...or other corporate chains...people would start to realize i think, but anyways man..cheers, and happy easter i gues, im not verry christian or anything but whatever..and you probably wont read this because you get alot of mail, but if you do, just know that there are people in this world want change, and are willing to step up if given a direct option or oprotunity..and im pretty sure you have some power to bring that forward mr. moore, wake up our sleeping americans sir..thanks

All right Michael maybe I am coming completely from left field here, still I think it's the quickest means to a better end for our country "The Promised Land". If legislation was presented to The United States Congress to make The Declaration Of Independence a legally binding document rather than a historical document Then we could oust and replace the current administration on the grounds of tyranny. As far as I am concerned Congress ceased to represent us the day they passed legislation to have a separate retirement plan. Therefore they no longer are for the people by the people.

Certainly i am not as eloquent as some of the great friends I have seen here or you yourself but I think it's the most expedient way to affect change now.

What Do You Think?

p.s I'd like to see the alleys of downtown turned to an open air bazaar and market with canvass canopies placed for inclement weather.

Am currently witing a business plan for a cooperatively owned factory but am not well versed in all the inticacies. Am certain it could succeed though any suggestions there.

If we leave, will the Shiite majority make Iraq a worse place than the Iraq we invaded?

Short of pulling out a Necronomicon, resurrecting Hussein, and propping him back up in charge, I don't see a way to leave Iraq as it was before we invaded, let alone better than we found it.

We really need to start pushing the Democratic Party HARD. Aside from left-wing superstars like Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel, they need to start waking up and realizing that they will start losing votes to other parties that have agendas that are in line with the American people.

We NEED impeachment of the entire Bush administration for war crimes.
We NEED a universal single payer health care plan.
We NEED to revamp the federal reserve system, and take it out of the hands of the private bankers.
We NEED to have a real renewable energy policy-- not fictional crap like "Clean Coal," "Corn Ethanol with a net energy surplus" and "Hydrogen fuel cell cars" -- none of which even exist.

The sad thing is that there are still Americans out there calling people like you a traitor, people who think 4000 dead is perfectly acceptable since it is a lower deathtoll than previous wars, they do not discuss the surviving wounded at all. They follow Bush because he claims to be a Christian, and if one points out to them that Christ spoke against the very things Bush is for, they call that person a traitor and a heathen.

Certain Americans demand us to take God out of everything this country was founded on. It is no wonder the Bush administration has led so many sheep into slaughter. He claims to be a Godly man yet his actions show otherwise. And you are so right about this whole cloak of 9/11. I truly believe Bush is the anti christ.
