Hello there Megafriends!! My Blog was overflowing with recent Megadeth related stories so, to save space and confusion, we condensed everything into one handy MEGABLOG! Submitted for your reading & rocking pleasure, you will find all the news, noise and videos from Megadeth Day at Musicians Institute as well as a blurb about a guest solo spot on Glen Drover's forthcoming solo album.

FEATURED LIVE VIDEO: REPRISING MEGADETH "IN MY DARKEST HOUR" AT MUSICIANS INSTITUTE 06.06.08

Description: Former Megadeth lead guitarist Jeff Young playing "In My Darkest Hour" with Musicians Institute students & instructors. This is obviously a bootleg filmed by a student on a digital camera BUT that Les Paul - Marshall JMP combination still sounds mighty tasty. "There's some cool moments here... i like the way my main solo came out on this take - even better than what's on the album! Plus there's some cool improv soloing at the end... CRANK IT!"

NOTE: NICK MENZA IS NOT PLAYING DRUMS ON THIS TAKE. IMDH VIDEO FEATURING NICK MENZA ON DRUMS FEATURED BELOW

We finally managed to get a copy of this board tape direct from Musician's Institute: Megadeth's "In My Darkest Hour" performed live with MI students and featuring former Megadeth members: lead guitarist, JEFF YOUNG (So Far, So Good... So What! era) and drummer, NICK MENZA (Rust In Peace - Cryptic Writings eras).

The two former members of legendary Thrash-Metal pioneers Megadeth, played the classic track "In My Darkest Hour" with MI students in a momentous Megadeth Metal Live Performance Workshop. This is the first time in nearly 20 years that the two have played together:

TAKE ONE: Jeff Young (far left) & Nick Menza (drums) with MI/GIT students and BIT instructor, Menno Verbaten:

ANOTHER SHREDDING "IN MY DARKEST HOUR" LIVE AT MI VIDEO

Here's another cool version of "In My Darkest Hour" from Musicians Institute Live Performance Workshop. This version features more close ups and one of my star students Daniel Stockwell on lead vocals and guitar. You can't hear his vocals at first but keep listening... he does an amazing job on Mustaine's vocal & guitar parts... and he even sings "in key" which is an added bonus. This kid has a promising future!

FORMER MEGADETH GUITARISTS UNITE!!

* THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS RE-PRINTED FROM GLEN DROVER'S (MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND) PROFILE. THANKS FOR THE GRACIOUS INVITE GLEN!! THIS WILL BE GREAT FUN. STAY TUNED...

Glen Drover announces guest guitarists on the upcoming Drover/Forte Instrumental album!

As promised, I have some new info on the recording of the new instrumental project I will be doing with Stephan Forte (Adagio) pertaining to some "Guest players" who be contributing a solo on the record. As I write this, the following have agreed to do so......

Vinnie Moore - UFO
Gus G - Firewind
Jorn Viggo - Pagans Mind
Jeff Waters - Annihilator
Chris Caffery - TSO/Savatage
Chris Poland - OHM
Ron Jarzombek - Watchtower
Jeff Young - Ex Megadeth
Slav Simanic - Ex Eidolon

Stephan and myself are talking to a few other players, so there will be updates on this as soon as they confirm... Believe me, a few people I am trying to confirm are some of my favorite players (as is with those so that already did confirm), so this is going to be a great project for myself and Stephan - We are doing this for no other reason than we want to, as we have a total "Carte Blanche" as to what style of music we are going to take, we only know at this point that there will be a ton of guitars on it :) Much more on this in due time.........

Talk to you soon,

Glen.
