So tomorrow is the day that the shit is all hitting the fan and we are heading into the studio (once again the drums will be recorded in a real studio) to record our future hit record Scrambles. This new will have a ton of weird stuff on it (probably not all that weird) and might even have a full-fledged guitar solo. Wow. Here's the final track listing:
1. Cold Chillin' Cold Chillin' 2. Stuff That I Like 3. It Shits!!! 4. Fresh Attitude, Young Body 5. Wednesday Night Drinkball 6. 25! 7. Celebrities Gone Wild or $2,400,000 8. Gang of Four Meets the Stooges But Boring 9. 9/11 Fever 10. (Shut) Up the Punx!!! 11. Can I Pay My Rent in Fun? 12. Saddr Weirdr 13. On To Browner Pastures
It will hit streets on January 20th, 2009. We'll try to keep everyone posted with samples of what we're doing, pictures of what we're doing, blogs about what we're doing, and videos of people listening to those samples, looking at those pictures and reading those blogs. We are also not planning to spend more than $50 recording this record, which will hopefully prove a point that it is easy enough to make a record that sounds good for cheap, all it takes is a little effort, some reading, some doing favors for people and piling a bunch of shit on top of itself. That point will be completely moot once we master the thing I guess, but like both presidenial nominee's approach to gay marriage I guess we gotta take baby steps.
I was gonna save this for the end of the year, but I think it is appropriate that we thank the following wonderful people who are way more important than us and have way better things to do than help us out, but still here they've been this whole year allowing us to play some pretty crazy shows with bands I never dreamed we'd play with in places I never dreamed we'd be. Or is it dreamt? Anyway. Thanks:
Mike Park. John Pantle. Ben and The Slackers. Less Than Jake, et al. Dave Covert. Mustard Plug. Andrew W.K.
Ok, now that that's out of the way I also am deeming it necessary to check out all of the following Asian Man friends if you haven't yet cause they're the best bands:
Lemuria Andrew Jackson Jihad Kepi Ghoulie / Kepi and Dino / Kepi the Band Shinobu O Pioneers The Queers No Torso
It has been pretty crazy to be part of a group of such unrelentingly great bands. We're not familiar with a lot of things (companionship, friendliness, positivity, happiness, joy, will to live, waaah wahhh wahhhhh) so I guess I'm just trying to say that in a time where it seems like it is becoming more and more impossible (aka less and less possible) for this band or any band to exist, due to crazy gas prices, a shitty economy, rising food costs, rising rent costs, less jobs, etc etc it's nice to have friends for once - whether they are eating shit with us or giving us a hand in eating real food instead. Thanks everyone. Scrambles is on ze way!!!
