KICKS/HI SPRING/SUMMER 2008 COLLECTION:
The Rickey Henderson of this collection is the latest take on our popular "Established" graphic from last season. Homerun. First pitch. Stop throwing those hanging curves! Yeah boyeee!
I know every dude wears more solid color tees as much as they rock graphic tees. This is your compromise: KICKS/HI crest logo on the left sleeve and a small back collar hit to round it off. Every day, all day.
People can't get enough of our crest logo (myself included!). I have purchased every colorway, and these two shall be mine as well. Oh they shall be mine...(BTW, its a deep navy print on the white tee).
Hawaii was originally established by a monarchy with a king, queen and court. OG high society, kid. And in case you didn't pay attention in geography class;
Hawaii is the 50th state. Yes, we are well a part of the United States. I met someone the other week that actually didn't know that. I think I was equally saddened and shocked. If anything, please pay attention in school. There is almost nothing more important than being up on your knowledge.
The basic
KICKS/HI logo is another graphic that people request for us to print daily. The beauty of the KICKS/HI brand is that you can only get it through our doors. There is not enough destination brands out there anymore (almost none at all). That used to be one of the most exciting aspects of traveling to LA, SD, SF,
NY etc. because there were brands that you could only get in those respective market. The internet and distribution to numerous boutiques has watered down that exclusive nature immensely. I mean, yeah, you can phone order these jumpoffs (
808.941.9191) but other than that, you gotta hop on a flight to
Hawaii to get yours. It just makes it more special.
This is the "Natives Remix" tee. I love the original graphic, and I love this new interpretation even more. KICKS/HI has always had a strong connection to island culture and we are strongly inspired by
music. This graphic builds upon both themes in such a major way. Its so dope when things come together like that.
This "Tiki" graphic sold out the first time faster than any other design to date. Why we didn't bring this heavy hitter back around sooner is beyond me, but nevertheless, here it is in three new bagning colorways! Lahdamersay!
This "Spiked" design is hands down the favorite of the entire staff. JU$ exclaimed "I'm gonna buy two of the white tee!" Again, a well designed graphic doesn't have to have all kinds of busy images and colors to hit you over the head, and this one is like Wil E. Coyote getting bombarded with a safe, a two ton anvil, and an elephant-one after the other.

Because the "Spiked" tee drew such rave reviews from the crew, we decided to make it super official with a KICKS/HI "Spiked" New Era fitted cap. Normally I would say that YOU ain't ready for this, but I'm gonna switch it up and say that the SUMMER itself ain't ready for this! School isn't even officially out yet and I'm saying summer 2008 is a wrap, kid! Haha. Get yours this Saturday...

KICKS/HI ohanarandom top 5 for thurs. 05/15:
1. the roots "rising down" (album) (whoooooo! I think this album is even better to me personally because I recently caught Questlove spinning at Sutra in NY after a Roots/Erykah Badu concert and Black Thought got on the mic to spit like 6 songs!)
2. santogold "santogold" (album) (I think critics should stop trying to categorize her sound. good music is good music.)
3. the bird and the bee "last day of our love" (my girlfriend found this song. good music is good music.)
4. daft punk "something about us" (I 've been hearing this song left and right this past couple of months and only recently found out the title)
5. buju banton "love needs" (one of the standout "rewind selectah" cuts from dj eleven's "JA goods vol.2" mix)
