Hello from Stephenville, TX!
My husband Ty and I have been at the ranch rehearsing for Dancing With The Stars, and I thought I would post a video blog (see it here http://celebrity.myspace.com/ )for you all, giving you an update on my knee. Just a couple days off is needed, I’m not quitting; I’m in it to win it! I feel bad for my partner having to sit around and do nothing, but I think taking time off now is best so I can get back to it in a few days! Ok, now I know, a wee singer songwriter shouldn’t go from 0 hours of dancing to 8 hours a day!!
For those of you that may not be able to watch the video blog, I will fill you in here a little. I’m having a blast learning how to dance, not that I’m very good, but learning is so much fun and it feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from a world class teacher! To get to be on the show with Ty is so fun. Usually our work takes us to separate places, I’m usually on the road at a show, and he’s on the road at a Bull riding. With this we get to be together everyday and work; which, when it comes to starting a family, should be good! haha.....
I just finished recording my lullaby album, and it’s titled "Lullaby," straight and too the point :) It should come out in time for Mothers Day- May 5th is the date it will be in stores. It’s not just "kids" album, per se- I call it a mood album. It’s something soothing to chill to at the end of a long day; good for kids, but written with adults in mind. Nothing up-tempo, just 10 songs I wrote, and a few standards like Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star; I found 5 or 6 'lost' verses, so I’m proud of this version. It’s a really acoustic record, kinda like 'Pieces of you' was- but no rhythm section. Just me and my guitar and a few cellos and mandolins and stuff like that. This record was fun for me because it is my first independent release in my life. I got to produce it myself and record it at home at the ranch. What a liberating experience to have no pressure to do anything except what moved me artistically- I think you guys will like it.
Anyway, I will keep you guys all posted on behind the scenes of Dancing With The Stars, and let you know how I’m doing. I will post more video blogs of me and my partner and of Ty and his partner too. Thanks for all the well wishes, and keep up the messages.
