FACT: Bush read the story "The Pet Goat", to a classroom minutes AFTER the second plane hit the WTC.

Note the text on the blackboard behind his head, that was likely strategized months in advance. The irony.

Whats funny about that day to me is:

On December 4, 2001, Bush was asked: "How did you feel when you heard about the terrorist attack?" Bush replied, "I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower - the TV was obviously on. And I used to fly, myself, and I said, well, there's one terrible pilot. I said, it must have been a horrible accident. But I was whisked off there, I didn't have much time to think about it." [White House, 12/4/01]

On January 5, 2002, Bush stated: "Well, I was sitting in a schoolhouse in Florida ... and my Chief of Staff – well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane..." [White House, 1/5/02]

Professional breakdown of what happened around Bush that day, as according to "credible" sources:

Ya, thats a funny pic.

I dunno, its kinda funny he'd say, not once, but twice that we watched the first plane hit. When you consider that, with how in the dark we are about that day, despite all of the "credible" accounts; extreme shadiness.

I am definately NOT a Bush fan. However, I do believe that he was in shock and like most men he was thinking about his wife. Now if you know anything about Laura Bush you are familiar with her literacy programs... I think he was on autopilot, prerecorded from his wife. I can't stand him though...

He was told to "stand  by" and continue working the current appointment.  Click on my face.  Read my blogs.  I'm no right wing wacko...but hey....Michael Moore can do anything with is filmography...He even SAID HIMSELF that 9-1-1 was NOT an "documentary"...Michael Moore said himself it was "Entertainmen."  Now he is debuting his new film at Cannes about how "Bush hates and killed black folks."

Personally, I CANT STAND MICHAEL MOORE'S FAT A**and wish he would pack up all his sh** and MOVE HIS FAT -AMERICAN-HATING-ASS TO FRANCE.

He's a talented film-maker - but completely and totally motivated by the $$$ and the tye-dyed, tofu-eating, PETA-loving,dread-locked-pot-smoking-poverty-stricken-trapped-in-their-victimization-Whitey-did-It-Bush-Did-IT-It 'Aint-My-Fault-People -that thrive off of Michael Moore's cinimatic bullsheet.

He's gonna make BANK $$$ off of his new movie at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL after all the American apologists fall in LOVE with it!!!

Heyallll.....I could take 30 minutes of you yacking with your friends and edit it to make it look like you were talking trash to your momma!

Joni,

Michael Moore is a tool of the right wing nuts (that you are clearly not).
....me thinks the lady dost protest too much.

Michael Moore puts out strawman bullshit, lobbing softballs at Babe Ruth.

I hate him too.
Not because he's wrong.
But because he is so easily discredited (as you have aptly done).

"He was told to "stand  by" and continue working the current appointment."

and FYI  He's the president... So who is it that you're saying controled him on that day?

Why not have your hand at a real documentary.

YES...and he was ADVISED to stand down until further notice by his intelliegence sources.

He had no IDEA what was happening..

Was it Al-Quida?

Was it freaks like the ones that blew up Oaklahoma City??

Was it Bill Nye-The-Science-Guy gone mad????

He didin't know.

Nobody f-in knew,

They could've thwarted it months earlier if our CIA, FBI, MILITARY, GOVT. & POLICE agencies would have been interconnected..

But that's only happening now as a RESULT of this sheet, isn't it?

Well gee, Ignorance, ya got a point there... footage of the first plane hitting was not on the television until much later in the day .. it actually aired AFTER the 2nd plane hit... humm wonder how he saw it?

and come to think of it doesn't the official story tell a tale of him not knowing anything until the whiusper in the ear (about the 2nd plane)?

i remember waking up that morning just as the 1st plane hit my mom had the news on and all the news casters could talk about is how it must have been a horrible pilot error. i questioned how an error of that magnitude could have occurred. in the 1st few minutes i think everyone had that on their minds. some might have thought maybe it was terrorists but there wasn't anything to suggest it to that point. it was definately clear after the second plane hit that this was no accident, and the thought of anyone doing that is shocking. as we all know the president is human... this being seen by the mistakes he makes, but to say it is unacceptable for him to be in shock to have a million things at the moment going through his mind to sit and think. What could he do in the 5 minutes sitting there anyway? the damage was done. not to say i support him in all he does, but in that moment i had the same thoughts and feelings and if  was sitting there in his place i probably would have done the same maybe worse... i would have shit myself

The problem with his statement about watching the first plane hit, aside from the fact that he read after the second plane is, there was no video of the first plane until many hours later. The only known tape of the first plane was one from a documentary being filmed ironically on the FDNY. The camera turns up from a firefighter checking on a potential gas leak and you hear "holy shit" or something to that effect as it hits.

Exactly! Further, why would there be a TV in the room anyways? Does he watch himself on TV, when he does these events?

I heard that the 1st plane hitting the tower was well publicized on the "new world order Pay Per View Channel"... very exclusive.  (this is fantastical speculation)

I wouldn't be surprised if  he did watch the damn thing.. it just wasn't the same TV the rest of the world sees ... He probably just forget how special he was when making those statments.

He said he saw the first plane hit BEFORE he was "whisked outa there" into the classroom.

So, he was not mistaking the 2nd for the 1st.  Cause he could not have seen the 2nd until after they left the classroom.

The class room, by the way, was a few short miles from an international airport... where a plane may be hijacked from.  Bush's schedule for the day was public knowledge.. .

Shouldn't he have been "whisked away" from the the school that everyone knew he was sitting in... for National Securtity reasons....  How did they know he wasn't a target?

<<Just to add one other point, you are hanging an awful lot of dark suspicion on Bush's statement that he watched the FIRST plane hit.  As you point out that was not generally seen on TV.  Why, then, do you accept as factual that Bush was talking about the first plane, not the second?

>> Because he said he did, not once but twice. Whats the mathematical probability of that?

Which is more likely--he either (A) misspoke in calling the "second" plane the "first" one, (B) that he meant to say "second" but flubbed it, (C) was referring to the first plane that he saw hit the towers, or (D) that he actually planned the whole thing and knew what was going to happen beforehand?

If he did it once, those would certainly be the most relavent. Since he did it twice, it changes the entire arguement. A+B=dissolved, C how could he see it when no one knew it was coming; all the presidential commotion, whos got time to(or cares to) set up a TV for him to view soemthing, that we only know as being from a tape-only camera. D = if he really did see the first plane hit, how could he not have had a insight abotu what wa sgonna go down?

<<The principle of Occam's Razor heavily weighs in favor of A, B, or C.  As to whatever significance you attach to the allegation that he referred to the "first" plane on two separate occasions, I again ask you what that proves...Bush mangles his words so badly and may in fact be dyslexic, is it really that improbable that he made the same mistake twice?

>>Path of least resistance is always the easiest and prefered, especially for sceptics(especially in science), but respectfully it is one that has to be overcome by nonsceptics.

I think the only inferences that are warranted from this, even if what you are saying is true, are as follows:
1.  Bush is a very poor public speaker, especially when put on the spot.
2.  Bush frequently flubs what he's trying to say even if he knows ahead of time what he's going to say.
3.  He was very rattled and emotionally fragile on the morning of 9/11.
As for ..1 and ..2, we knew those already.  As for ..3, Bush had this in common with everyone in America.

I actually must say that he's a good speaker, aka bullshitter. All of the times Ive watched him, I seen him put on a good speech, and even go off of the script for long durations. Sometimes this has caused him some sloppiness, but hes usually right on with his goals of that subject. People discredit him as being a lame-brain, which is easy, since he looks like a dumbsass and has a southern accent. Ive seen him perform better speeches  than any other modern speaker, and this is proven since he has never lost a debate. Lets not forget most of these people are bred into this, especially him. He has to face similar opponents, who have the same understanding and desires for that office. You cant win these arguements across the board from lack of intelligence. Hes a TV actor, and no one sees him coming. Think of the Devils Advocate, no-one seen him coming; the irony. Daddy did have a major part in this, since Jr. is the product of a powerful dad, and the arrogance that comes with it, especially in this country.

It's funny that this is the first of your blogs I chose to read because I'm about as far away from a bush supporter as you can get....I'm a liberal and am disgusted with our president for a myriad of things recently with New Orleans/hurricane katrina hit areas...but when 9/11 happened I actually had more respect for him and liked him more then I have at any other time because I think myself as well as everyone else in the country was just so totally devastated...I cried for days and still can if I watch something about it...it was just senseless and cruel and awful....I think it wasn't the smartest thing to do to finish the story no...but his actions after that are what give me the little respect I have for him...I like that he brought former president clinton and his father in to raise money and get volunteers and that he went to the site, something he didn't do with New Orleans/hurricane hit areas that i think would have made a difference...I could respect his attempts to deal with issues in that situation....where as in recent events it was more like lets stick our heads in the sand an just pretend we didn't notice....I don't want to start a political argument or anything..but I just wanted to say, this was a time when I actually liked him...one of the few...so I just thought it was interesting people we discussing it....

No, the Secret Service were supposed to GRAB HIM and RUSH HIM outta the school and onto Air Force One. That is THEIR DUTY. Go read that link which breaks down the chain of events. Why wouldnt they remove him from there, when the entire nation was under attack, and the public knew about his where abouts? How does it make sense that he said on 2 seperate occasions he watched the 1st plane hit, and that they didnt rush him to safety?

First, theres a big difference between mispelling something out of habit, and mixing up 2 different objects/events. Then each time he even explains the scenario, such as

"I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower - the TV was obviously on."

Big difference than mispellings, or words mismatching. "that must be one terrible pilot". This causes big problems, it demonstrates that he did in fact see the first plane hit, he was in the classroom on camera when the 2nd plane hit. Or are you saying that he has doenst even have a true memory of the event? Thats means he seen the video before he went into the classroom. Problem is the only video that the public had access to, was on a "homemade" tape that didnt surface until much after that morning, not on the air. No reporters were aiming cameras at it during the first impact, or we would have seen it. Now if he seen the impact, before he went in the classroom, that was exclusive footage that noone else had access to. WHY?

I will agree that hes not all there, which would explain what happened, he screwed up on one of his impromtu's, and let out too much info. The way he discribes it, its just too much. He did it twice. If the explainations wernt included then it could just mean sloppiness.

~ "What if I'm a target here?"

EXACTLY, but his secret service didnt do their jobs, his safety is not even up to him. Why wouldnt they rush him out? The only logical explaination would seem to indicate that they didnt feel there was a threat. If he watched the video before he went in the classroom, then that would mean that they watched it to. So nation is under attack, yet the ultimate security team in the world didnt rush him out? If he was thinking "What if I'm a target here?" why wouldnt he have just gotten up and lead them out, if he felt threatened?

~ "How am I going to get out of here without causing a panic?"
Nation under attack, why shouldnt there be panic, especially when the president is sitting right in front of you? All he had to do was get up and walk out, "national affairs" peace out.
