Hey y'all,
I'm writing from my living room in Philadelphia, the day after our boys in Red won the World Series. Last nite was pretty insane: people burning their underwear on the streets, cars overturned, luggage stores ransacked (for real). I am finally able to compose myself now that this crazy curse on Philly is over and I can explain how awesome CMJ.
We had such a great time playing 7 shows in 5 days. At first it was a bit rough because I had streph throat and I felt as if my soul had been destroyed and I had to still play drums (which is a sweaty ordeal for me.) Well, finally, I regained my strength and the rest of the 'J (that's what i'm calling CMJ) was off the charts.
Highlights:
We were thrilled to wake up on Wed morning and be told that the NY times was at our first show of CMJ and they wrote some nice things:
"Indie-rock, with full blog support, is now the refuge for the musicianly impulses of progressive rock. Pattern Is Movement, a two-man band (drums and keyboards) from Philadelphia, records mercurial songs that juggle Minimalist repetition, musical-theater melodicism and progressive-rock asymmetries. But onstage, like duos from Lightning Bolt to the Dresden Dolls, they happily pummeled the music, vigorously knocking down any hint of effeteness."
We also played our last show @ the Knitting Factory on Saturday for a rowdy bunch in celebration of the rad blog - BrooklynVegan. It was by far of the best shows we've had the pleasure of playing in NYC and we have a photo to prove it:

It's with that I'd bid you all goodnite. I'm tired and I have a crap load of dishes to finish cleaning.
