There's a new Chick in town. You can find her at 7th and Kater (by Bainbridge). She's an adorable little cafe and wine bar featuring amazing cheeses and other notable nibbles. Although titled "wine bar," their beer selection is not to be overloked. It is well thought out with hardly any of the usual suspects.
Here goes a few: Bell's Two Hearted Ale Duchess de Bourgnonne Sly Fox Dry Stout Leffe Blonde Weinhestephaner
My bartender, Tomas, was even creating beer concoctions like mixing the Stout with the Duchess. Not for everyone, but potentially intriguing for some.
They have about 8 seats at the bar and al fresco dining as well.
The "must try before you die"...are the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Gorgonzola. Other menu features include: Pan Seared Scallops with a Blood Orange Fennel and Braised ShortRibs with Polenta and Wild Mushrooms
And lastly, for those restaurant industry folk that don't make it out to Sunday Brunch, they are hosting a monday hospitality industry brunch from 12-6 featuring their regular brunch menu. Some Brunch Items include: French Toast with Grand Marnier soaked Straberries and Chantilly Cream and Egg White Omelette with Caramelized Leeks, apples, and goat cheese, and a Lobster Quiche with Asparagus, Leeks and Goat cheese.
They are also on my space @ www.myspace.com/chickscafe
