While a part of me is becoming increasingly impatient for this baby to finally make its debut, a part of me is thinking, "right on kid!  Stick it to the man!"  (Even though the man is me and I'm not a man.)  Still, it would be nice to NOT be pregnant anymore (something at this point I can only dream about - I think most of me has forgotten what pre-pregnancy was like). 

The "oh-my-Goddess-I-have-one-week-before-I-give-birth-in-a-hospital" freak-out session is almost a week away so in order to get me more excited about having an overdue baby, here are a list of things about why it's great to have a baby past its due date.

1) It builds character.

2) It leads to all kinds of experimentation (Evening Primrose Oil, anyone?).

3) It gets me one day closer to having the world's largest baby.

4) It gives me time to finish baby-related projects.

5) It fosters patience (because we all know patience is a virtue).

6) It makes me laugh seeing how a late baby drives other people crazy...

7) ...although it drives me crazy with everyone's constant questioning (When's the baby coming?  Is it here yet?  When's your due date?  Are you STILL pregnant?).  Again, see 1 - it builds character!

8) It gives me an excuse to lay around and do nothing all day.

9) It gives me an excuse to leave work early.

10) It gives me an excuse to be crabby, mean, angry, frustrated, and any other nasty emotion not listed here.
