Hi I'm Megan, and I'm not affiliated with the band in any way but I do endorse this message.

I tagged along on tour this weekend with Adam, Debbie, and Our Lady of the Highway, and now they're making me sing for my supper in blog form. Apparently there is no such thing as a free sushi dinner.

Thursday night found our intrepid travelers and your humble narrator in DC, where friends Tom from These United States and Josh and Dave from The Capitol Years joined Adam and Debbie on stage before a crowd of enthusiastic and fashion-forward District of Columbians. Mie from Our Lady of the Highway joined them in the middle of the set and the result was some transcendant aural pleasure, some of which you may just be able to experience yourself on this here Myspace page, as the set was recorded.

Retired for the evening at Tom's, treated by a night of 1,000 stars, guitars and way too many Grateful Dead posters. In perfect Debbie fashion, just moments before hitting the road for Pittsburgh, she futilely attempted to stem the tide of a particularly curmudgeonly toilet that chose to erupt all over the second floor of the house. Then she said something to Adam about not wanting to be the girl with her finger stuck in the dam, and we decided she's been watching Walk the Line too many times. Oh wait, that was me.

Anyway we hit the road, there was Neko Case and Joni Mitchell on the radio and unseasonably warm sunshine on our faces. We made good time to Pittsburgh where they played an intimate show to some friends and members of Adam's family, who graciously treated both bands to amazing Thai food after the show. Our Lady of the Highway and Debbie and Adam all played on each other's sets and it was fantastic -- one of those magical but sparsely-attended shows that people will lie about having been to, like the Sex Pistols show in 24 Hour Party People or that Nirvana show at the Pontiac Grille in Philly.

That night we decided to get a jump on the long ride to Brooklyn and hung up our weary spurs in glorious downtown Altoona. Debbie and I were tired enough to believe for a good 3 minutes that our hotel room did not have a bathroom. After the band's morning yoga and blood-drinking rituals, we had a leisurely breakfast at King's Family Restaurant where we experienced the fruits of the marketing blitzkrieg known as the Frownie. We think Dominic from OLoH might start a Frownie-masked side project where they sing about their fudgey, delicious feelings.

A long, rain soaked trip across the state later, and we made it to Brooklyn. Now, word on the street might be that the show at the Syrup Room was cancelled because of various L&I issues, but the real truth is that Adam, full of fire and icing, was arrested for distributing incideniary revolutionary poetry. And you thought the people's poet was dead. After we sprung Adam from the slammer we went to see friend Adam Farrell (aka Benny Philebrity) spin at the Soda Bar. Good times.

Well, I've got to run, Adam's just begun his set at Club Midway in Manhattan with an awesome Neutral Milk Hotel cover. Pictures to follow. Later on and kids, stay in school!
