Current mood:  working

Hello all,

Now that the official announcement has been made, I can finally break
my silence... if just for a few kind words for anyone interested in what's
happening in my world!

We are gearing up to start production on The Box in November...
shooting in Richmond, VA... starring the one and only Ms. Cameron Diaz. I couldn't be more excited... and expect more casting announcements soon.

As for Southland Tales... we are about halfway through completing all
of the new visual effects. We have to deliver everything by the end of summer.
I have to tell everyone that the amount of visual effects work being
added to the film is SIGNIFICANT... and I am so grateful for the work being done by Thomas Tannenberger and his team at Gradient VFX in Venice Beach.

And I can confirm that a company has been hired by Sony to
begin work on a trailer. The release date will be announced very soon.

And for some reason... myspace is telling people that it is my
birthday! Thank you for the birthday wishes but I was born on March 28th... I am indeed an Aries. Sorry for the confusion!

Best,

RK

Hurry up on that trailer! :)
Awesome to hear that you have a big actress in The Box. I'm not a big fan of Diaz, but if she's working with you, then I'm a fan! It was the same with Drew Barrymore before her.
Your next movie should have Lucy Liu.

Does this mean that we might get two Richard Kelly films in the same year? That would be amazing.

The premise of "The Box" sounds really interesting, very glad to hear you'll be directing. Eli Roth is great too but I have a soft spot for your writing and directing style. :) I always thought Diaz would be great in a genre flick. Great casting choice. Now see if you can get Heather Graham in there somewhere! :)

Sounds great! Congrats on hooking Cameron Diaz, she's a very talented actress, and I can't wait to finally lay eyes on Southland Tales. The graphic noves set up a very interesting premise :)

It's great to hear the good news!
I do have one question, though...

Is Southland Tales still going to be set in 2008?

Hey Richard (or someone from the team as a matter of fact) : is it normal that it says for the release informations "Germany 9 November 2007 " on the IMDB page?? Is Germany getting lucky or is it as i suppose, an error most likely (an european release before the american one...) or very old information?

And what are the evolutions concerning european releases? and especially the french one (what? me? selfish???)

Olivier.

I've been hearing rumors of a November release date for Southland Tales being almost certain? -If this is the case, that would be wonderful news.

'Southland Tales' promotions and 'The Box' begins filming... sounds like a very busy month.
