Who Gives Kudos:

Sunday, December 16, 2007

December 16, 2007 - After three appearances in the USA this year, Japanese alternative rock band LiN CLOVER announced a indefinite "suspension" of activities this week on their website. Best known for their imaginative lyrics and dark, experimental music style, the band was nominated in 2007 for Best Japanese Rock Band in Shojo Beat Magazine.

The band will finish their 5-year run together in two live shows in January 2008, giving their native Japanese fans a last chance to see them live for a long time or possibly forever. USA fans experienced live performances in 2007 in Seattle (Sakura-Con), San Francisco, and Los Angeles (Pacific Media Expo).

The statement, written collectively by YuRi, Ren, and Nao, makes a point of thanking their fans and promising that the members "will move on to new paths."

The full text from the Japanese website is translated below.
(direct Japanese-language link: http://linclover-web.net/news.html)

"This is all of a sudden but it has been decided that LiN CLOVER will suspend all activities on  January 14, 2008.

All of us have thought about this time after time and discussed it. At this point, in order to put closure on LiN CLOVER, each of the members will move on to new paths.

We dare to fit hope and development into the word "suspend", and - until a miracle occurs - in order to create a miracle we intend to keep moving forward.

For everyone who supported us we truly say Thank You. We are filled with feelings of appreciation.  As with every live show up until now, we will put all of our power into the last two shows.

Please continue to support us."

Ah! That's too bad. I hope you all can continue to make music in your own way.

Good luck!

I saw them at PMX as well. They put on a good show.

I got to talk a bit with Yuri and get a picture. She was really nice.

I hope it works out for them. God Bless!

Words can not say how sad I am... then again, New Year is a time for new beginnings, ne? Time to leave the old and start anew. Fitting somehow. Please let us know of your new projects so we can follow somehow because remember, you are responsible for the fans you leave in America! *grins* You hooked us with your music, now give us follow up even if you are not Linclover... I want to know what you are doing... call me stalker... I still will want to know what Yuri, Ren and Nao are doing. You are awesome musicians and I want to see you soar once more, regardless of where you are. PMX was great and I keep it close to my heart.
Thank you!
