starting this week, i am going to be releasing a video every two weeks (treatments written by me & pope-head...directed by beloved Michael Pope, each featuring a song from the new record.
these aren't just normal music videos, they are also threaded-together bits of one long film that works as a whole if viewed from start to finish. as i release these online, the streaming audio for the songs will also be cross-posted on myspace.com/whokilledamandapalmer
we started with "astronaut," and it looks...amazing, beautiful and incredible and pope is a genius.

pope & I and the whole crew of the WHO KILLED AMANDA PALMER video-series would like to invite you boston-area guys to a very special sneak-peek screening of the entire video-series.
we're holding it at the historic brattle theater, the same wonderful place we held FUCK THE BACK ROW, and i'm really looking forward to this...this space is like home for us and the cafe algiers upstairs is preparing mint coffee and falafel in preparation for our descent.
in addition to the pope/amanda videos (which will run about 35 minutes), we're double-billing with another show that blew my mind at the Edinburgh Fringe festival last year:
A DAY IN DIG NATION.
A DAY IN DIG NATION is a mash-up of media, sound and live performance following Rex, a man so consumed by technology that he forgets how to communicate with actual people. Helmed by multi-talented performer/composer/designer Michael McQuilken and co-written by Tommy Smith, A DAY IN DIG NATION weaves a hypnotic tale of crisis and redemption in this exhausting technological age. Think A Christmas Carol meets The Wooster Group; It's a Wonderful Life on an acid trip.
two nights only. pope & I will be sitting in the back row, of course, throwing popcorn at all y'all. plus all the artists will be available for hanging out, hugs, questions, and signing after the screening.

"LEEDS UNITED" VIDEO SHOOT in LONDON

....speaking of videos, i'm going to be shooting the video for the album's first single, "Leeds United," IN LONDON at the end of august with the danger ensemble and a whole UK film crew.
should be buckets of fun and we might need some local extras, so stay tuned...and we'll also be trying to organize a cast party to which we can invite EVERYBODY we know. blimey.

AMANDA & DANGER ENSEMBLE SEEKING LONDON CRASH SPACE/REHEARSAL SPACE
15-26th SEPTEMBER
....and speaking of LONDON, we're looking for crash/rehearsal space.
i've said it before and i'll say it again - fuck hotels! we like real.
we (me and 5 crazy Australians, AKA the danger ensemble, who will be with me all year performing on stage) are coming to London to prepare for our European tour and are looking for somewhere to crash close to central London!
ideally you live in an amazing place with several vacant boudoirs atop a rehearsal studio (or a big garage) that you would like to give over to us from the 15th - 26th of September.
we need a relatively comfy space - sharing beds is fine but we do need them.
wireless internet is pretty essential. heating and being close to the tube would be a huge plus.
it doesn't have to be a palace - we can improvise - if you know anyone on summer vacation or that has a space that can be made livable for a couple of weeks LET US KNOW!
if you JUST have a rehearsal space idea or JUST a place to stay, indicate that. we may end up commuting if we don't find both in one place.
in addition, if you can recommend/know of any cheap rehearsal studios please let us know, anything big enough to accommodate 7 people and a few string players moving around. bigger than a bedroom, smaller than a train station.

um. we'll make you dinner. buy you drinks, love you, we can hook you up with tix for the ICA show, any other european shows, free merch, and if you're into it, the whole ensemble will possibly also make out with you.

BEAUTIFUL ART ALERT:
BOSTON POPS hand-screened posters from ITALY
malleus, our long-time graphic collaborators from milan, made a GORGEOUS poster for the boston pops show which SOLD OUT on the first night.
to accommodate the demand they agreed to do a second printing and we took pre-orders on the second night. we'd also like to extend that invitation to anyone who wasn't there.
you must get your order in by July 13. these posters are gorgeous, large & printed on heavy black paper with fancy ink, lovingly hand-screened and individually numbered by the italians.
we also made t-shirts of the poster print, and there a few left, go grab 'em.

the US solo dates are selling fast so PLEASE get tix now online if you don't want to miss.
The august dates in US & Europe are going to be strictly solo piano...then i am going to be starting the world tour in europe in fall and bringing the danger ensemble & a small string section (including zoë keating!) with me. zoe will also be opening up and my good friend jason webley *might* be joining us for a good run of dates in europe. Conjoined twins Evelyn Evelyn may make their first european appearance as well...more info on all the support acts soon.

in other news...author Neil Gaiman, photographer Kyle Cassidy and I are working on the WHO KILLED AMANDA PALMER photo/storybook which will hopefully be released right around the time the record comes out. I've never hung out with so many cool people in my life, it's making up for high school in spades.
