So many people have fallen victim to the invisible monster that haunts our community. That monster, often referred to as HATE, has murdered, tortured, beaten, beheaded, dismembered, humiliated, and disabled our people for Thousands of years.  A lifelong genocide; one which has been acted out as far back as biblical times.  One that proves to be a reality, still today.

Our generation, like those before it, allow themselves to drown in the images and acts of discrimination, mockery and violence against homosexuality and our very existence. And THAT is the reason our fate has yet to change.

WAKE  THE  FUCK  UP!

Last week, as I gave out flyers to Last Saturdays Rally Against Hate Crime & Violence, I was shocked at the number of high risk, potential victims that didn't care about the issue. One gay couple in the 50's said "Dah'ling, I can't be bothered with that save the whales bullshit". Yet, when I began to tell people that I was handing out free passes to a fashion week after party, THEY WENT LIKE HOTCACKES!!!!!!!!

That is what we have reduced our people to

I know parties, fashion, music, colors, and spandex are fabulous, but there is a time for everything. DON'T tell me that you can fit all of that, plus time for internet anon hookups into your "oh so busy" schedule, yet you can't pencil in just one hour a week to dedicate towards YOUR right to be on this earth. Don't wait until it's too late…

That's what I did… "Dah'ling"   ... probably why I got beat the fuck up.

Oh Em GEE! Are you serious? this goes to show that people are oh so scared and yet will conform to something of hiding who they are. They are so consumed to this GLAM life that they forget reality. I am glad you are approaching this and trying to make people understand the seriousness of this matter. Keep up the good work and I will be seeing you soon.

A lot of people have their heads in the clouds.

They just sit around and tell themselves, "it will never be me" or "it's just not my problem".

I used to be the same way until I starting doing some independant research on gay bashing.

Then I found out about your incident through a friend on youtube, then came to your blog to read about it.

All of that came together and I realized, it can be me any day and it angers me.

They come into our neighborhoods and attack us. We don't go to them but they all somehow think that they are the alpha males and own every inch of the cities that they live in. It's disgusting.

The sad thing is, it's bred into them by their parents and passed down to younger generations as well.

I'm sorry that you were bashed, there are no words for how terrible that is. I think that it's amazing that you are pro-active about ending violence against the gay community. You took an awful thing that happened to you and turned it toward something positive instead of letting it drag you down. I think it's sick that others in the community, especially older people who have lived through all kinds of prejudice, would not want to help in some way. People can be so selfish.
