Current mood:reflective
This week at work, instead of traveling in my quest to sell software, some of the guys from our European offices came into town for a BIG LONG 3-day meeting. I don't know why drinking around Europeans (and Aussies to be complete) I seem to drink such large quantities.

Monday evening we went to the Flying Saucer. ...now the European guys were on an expense account, so the nice thing is that we local folks didn't have to pay our tabs...it was all taken care of by our counterparts. It wasn't a very late night, but there was a decent amount of beer. Justin and I headed out first, leading the charge. The evening was nice, so I drove home toasted in the Benz with the top down. It was fun. God I love that car...until I have to write out the check for the payment...

Tuesday morning came early. There is nothing quite like being confined to a conference room for 7 hours. These meetings usually get kind of heated because we're talking about feedback from the field and priorities in features and functionality, but for some reason everyone was a bit subdued. I had to bail out in the afternoon to finish all the paperwork for my condo at 222 Glenwood, so I got a decent reprieve.

I love walking into the 222 Glenwood offices when the real estate chicks are talking to swanky looking people. I think every time I've been in there I've been decked out in a wifebeater, jeans and flip flops. They always look at me like I'm poor. The ladies in the office generally try to get me out of there quickly, like a sloppily dressed, tattooed chick may bring down property values. Oh well...fuck them. I now have money down and my name on 222 Glenwood ..418. Fuckers! Get some of that!

Tuesday night I met the work peeps for dinner over at Greenshields. I got there a little early, and only 2 people from our party were there. I started the evening with a cosmo. The bartender wanted to know if it was strong enough. From then on out, my cosmos were WICKEDLY strong. I was sitting with Ingo from Germany, Mark from England and Jeronne from Singapore. We were talking about where we were going to go after dinner, so we decided to have more drinks at Harrisons. I was okay with that because it's close to my house, so I knew I could make it home safely. Ingo wanted to ride with me from Greenshields to Harrisons. We dropped the top and headed off. I don't think he was the least bit scared. :) I left after 3 beers...I was pretty kersmashed, and knew Wednesday morning was going to be hellish.

When I got home I had another beer, sent some emails...hehehehe...and said hi to some of my Jim Rose peeps. I also changed the strings on my Strat...it's been a while, and they were pretty nasty. Some time after that I took a shower and passed out, but there are some hazy areas...

Wednesday morning came early and my head hurt. I dressed quickly and like a slob, and managed to get to the building for my meeting almost on time. There was one hitch...I looked in the window of the conference room and realized that those people didn't look familiar. I had to find my itinerary to figure out where I was supposed to be. Luckily they just changed to a different room in the same building.

I was so freaking dehydrated I really wanted something to drink, but the meeting had already started, so I had to wait an hour and a half for a break before I could get myself something. Everyone looked a little out of it, so at least I wasn't alone.

It was such a LOOOONNNGGGG day...excruciatingly boring. I stuck it out the entire day. Justin got to bail out for a little while, and I was so jealous. I was contemplating jamming pencils in my eyeballs for fun, but then I realized I had no pencils...such misery.

Last night I played hockey with a bunch of crazy dudes. Things got a little rough and I got hammered from behind, causing me to bust my lip and hit my head. Poor me. The guys were playing like they were playing for the Stanley Cup or some shit. Most of 'em were A or B league guys. Even the guy who runs our league was there. We played for almost 2 hours. It was exhausting. I kept playing after getting hit, but I felt a little woozy. By the end, no one wanted the puck, so I kept taking it down and taking runs at the goalie.

I met a girl I recruited for my co-ed team. She's a roller hockey girl, and is straight out of learn to play, but she's tenacious. I could see her on D with me. Together we could probably kick some serious boy ass.

Today I took it easy because my head hurt. I slept a lot. I went for a run in the rain at about 8. It only took a few minutes for my sneakers to get squishy, but it was still a good time. I'm thinking it might be time to buy one of those dorky reflective vest things. There aren't many streetlights in my neighborhood and cars just don't pay attention. I almost get smoked nightly. I hate the idea of those plastic-y things touching my skin, but I'd rather deal with plastic than getting run over....

Tomorrow, despite this stupid storm, I have to present at GSK in Durham. I hate driving in the rain, but I guess I'll have to survive.

I have to figure out something to do tomorrow night, even if it's raining. I'm not staying in. Who's up for a drink? Too many people are heading to the coast for Labor Day...fuck the beach! I like keeping my skin super duper pale. :)
