At M-Audio, we've always been strong supporters of the independent music community. Over the years we've helped countless musicians, producers and DJs launch their careers—and now we're turning the spotlight on you. We're inviting all unsigned artists to Show Us Your Stuff—send us your work and we'll feature select participants on our website, MySpace page and online MP3 player. Since our website gets over 500,000 hits a month, it's a great opportunity to let your music be heard.

We are looking for the following types of material:
• Written stories about your M-Audio experience
• Photos of your gear setup
• MP3s of music you created with M-Audio gear
• Photos and videos of your band rehearsals, live performances and DJ gigs
• List of credits and club residencies

So what are you waiting for? Send us a message or comment with your music or video today. You might end up being the next M-Audio success story…

I totally dig M-Audio gear. I rely heavily on my Delta-66 with the Omni Studio break out box to get my sounds in and out. When the opportunity presents itself to go out live, I take along my MIDISport 4x4 (the green one) and an M-Audio Transport to get the soft synths to the mixer.
It gets played occasionally on DI. FM on the Chillout channel.

And the meager but functional studio:

Thanks a lot for looking and listening.

before i started out in 1987, I make all dance music from deep house.electro house and drum n bass music upto this day.

i started out with Music X on the Amiga A500 and A1200 then moved on to pc using logic audio platinum since 2002 and protools at the same time. now i sold most of my equipment and now using virtual instrument like NI,AIR too much to list on protools m power for a few years.

i have dejayed all over the planet and still going stronger.

We use a ton of M-Audio Controllers. I use the 41 key and 61 key for recording. On tour I use the Pro 88 as my only keyboard to control Main Stage. The Pro 88 solved all our live performance issues. I can switch performance patches on the fly. The piano feel is great and greatly improves my playing. No shortage of knobs for live tweaking. I have have some knobs mapped to control stage monitor levels.
The Pro 88 gives us total control of our live setting!

This story may not be set in a big city or talk about big name people but the way Pro Tools and M-Audio changed the world as I know it is a good one.

About three years ago my friend and recording partner won a new Dell computer as a result of pledging to the local Public Radio station. We travelled to WCMU in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to pick up the new system and had a tour of the broadcast facilities by the program director, John Scheffler. He showed us his corner of the world there and for the first time our eyes fell upon a computer monitor loaded with tracks, plug-ins and recorded regions. He was mixing an Irish band that played at the college recently preparing the music for a later broadcast. We were amazed. He said, "boys, Pro Tools and M-Audio are the way to go, I haven't found anything to beat it.
"

Geeked and jazzed up we set up the computer and tried to figure out how to make this upgrade from a little Roland workstation to the ultimate in recording, at least for us. That's when the next miracle happened. We got a call from Richard "dogman" Peterson and he had some songs to record and would prefer to work close to home up here in the northern Michigan woods instead of some big city studio hours away. We were able to provide just what he needed and after three CD's he is still writing and we're still recording. The best thing is this gave us tons of material to work with to learn how to use our new gear. As we worked and grew together we still can't believe what we are able to do now that we have good stuff to work with. It's a far cry from the days when we would dub tracks using two cassette decks and a nest of wires.

I've done it all using M-Audio Sessions with a Fast Track interface. I also use the M-Audio Key Station 61 es to use all the great midi files included in Sessions.

I've bought Pro-tools M-Powered and currently taking classes to learn how to make my music better. Although Sessions is a great stand-alone audio tool, I like what Pro-Tools M-Powered has to offer.

I feel there are many more recording "Sessions" to come!

The SubStance Recording

Where to begin?? I’m a producer / singer / songwriter / DJ, who is part of a loosely based musical group, and have always been fostered in such a fasion. It took me a long time to break into my own scene, a long time to realize that music was what my soul was meant to experience, I didn’t really get into music production/ DJ wise until I was 18 years old. I was about 20 years old when I decided to make the real jump from listener to creator/entertainer, and it was shortly after this time that I purchased my first piece of M-Audio equipment, the X-Session Pro. Keep in mind one other note, is that I am a regular middle class working blue collar, I don’t, and never have had a lot of money to spend on sound equipment, and what I have had and still do have, can only be described as a Frakenstein studio hahahahaha. However, with a few good key pieces of equipment, namely a good soundcard and a good MIDI controller, and a decent laptop, one can instantaneously become a super bomb DJ!!!!!!. The X-Session Pro, coupled along with excellent programs like Torq and Traktor, enabled me to live my dream, and DJ at some bomb world class clubs while I was traveling in Thailand!!! With several hours of practice, or maybe double that on second thought……I could play a drum & bass or house set that would be fit for even a king. Currently to this day, I still do use the X-Session Pro, because it also works really well with my production programs such as Reason, and Ableton Live. But something was still missing. My new tool was groovy and useful, but my system still wasn’t capable of the flexibility I required to have the all-in-one wonder. Hahaha I will send photo’s of when I was first DJing to show my crappy ridiculous soundcard, to elicit in words, it was laughable, more than laughable, borderline pitiful. My being impressed with my previous M-Audio purchase, and the popularity of M-Audio’s studio equipment, turned my attention to the M-Audio Firewire 1814. I had resolved at this point, being 23 years of age, to save and wait, only to purchase good equipment. And I had done the research, quite frankly the 1814 had better pre-amps than any other soundcard in it’s range, be it from Native Instruments, Yamaha, Roland, Creative Labs, Behringer and also other M-Audio soundcards etc. while also boasting professional quality recording ability. This is when my life became a vortex, and everything that I could think of had been unleashed. Not only could I begin to record myself, my own samples, and my own scratching, but the power it gives to digitally DJ like a god was nearly crushing under the pressure. I had begun to hear low’s in tracks that I had made that I didn’t even know where there before, at the risk of sounding cliché, it was like a whole new world that had been lying just beneath the surface had sprung up from the depths. There isn’t too much more to tell other than what tracks I have made using the X-Session and Firewire 1814. It was without a doubt a result of the badass soundcard that enabled me to really hear and understand what I was producing. All of my tracks with voice are recorded using a Shure PG-58 Mic for live performance, and the Firewire 1814 makes it sound soooo good. The Firewire helps the raw sound of live performance, by recording it with bar none probably the highest quality in portable soundcards. I’m not like many artists out there who probably have a whole studio with mostly M-Audio equipment, but regardless, my two additions to my studio have made all the difference.

Hi M-Audio
We have been using an Maudio Firewire 410 for many years now. We produce electronic/dance music with it but we also record Vocals and Guitar through it. We have found it to be very reliable and versatile. We use it in the studio and in live situatiuons as its very portable and easy to use with a laptop or a tower. We recently had to fly to Sydney to play a show there and we could just fit the firewire and laptop in our handl luggage, this is very helpful when you need to know your gear is safe and not damaged in transit. The Firewire 410 does its job perfectly and we dont see any need to upgrade for some time.

About our Music:
We met while doing our degrees in electronic music and have been working together since 2006. Our debut EP is ready but we are looking for a label.
We have been playing live for about 8 months and in that time we have had the following accolades:-

Myspace Featured Artist
WAMI song of the year finalist
MusicOz Awards Finalist (electronic/dance)
Garage to V Music Fesival State Finalists
WAMI Best Electronic Dance Act Finalists
Most Recently - Futrure Music Magazine Demo of the Month June 08

Probably best covered as three pernicious old men with an appetite for bloody mayhem and socially-incongruous senses of humor testing the boundaries of listen-able music.
we've got an oxygen 8 and uno burried within the list.
the uno connects an old stinkpad with live 5 and the oxygen 8 is used to play rack-mounted synths (largely the nord).

hauling even part of that to a show hurts us (the oxygen 8 and uno might account for 1% of the total weight if i'm generous):

we're currently overhauling the studio as the floor could no longer support the weight of the equipment (nor our backs when we had to haul any of it up or down the flight of stairs). even with my widest lens i couldn't fit it all into the frame.

so since we don't have that much room for a couple six months, we crammed our socially unacceptable a**es into an itty bitty tiny room. think it might be possible to get it all into one photo? nope. 2 drum kits, 2 synths, and the other (yes i said other) 32x8 console are in storage.

console side:

the other side:

before you go askin', no you can't come "jam" with us as an excuse to bask in the glory of all that winking and blinking.

I've been using Torq for about 1 year and it has allowed me to take my dj-ing to a new level. It has revolutionized the way I think of a set, mix, and perform. It has helped blur genre, key, and even tempo boundaries while taking my sets to a new upgraded level. It has enabled me to wow fellow djs and audience.

Its features allow for more creativity than other similar setups and has encouraged me to do things you could only do with more expensive equipment, my favorite effects (strobe, repeat, filter) are always there wherever gig I go to, and I'm not dependent on mixers or hooking up anything other than my computer to rock out. Its cue points, samplers and flexibility make it un-stopable. Even when on layovers, when waiting by gate B-9 i've worked on live remixes and mixes on Torq and my Connectiv.

Above all, the Torq community on the Forums has been a great bonus.

I can't wait to see what new features are unlocked and how I can push their boundaries.

The Ugly Crew

Hello M-Audio,
My name is KaR-D and I am a member of The Ugly Crew.
As a Producer/Artist
I love M-Audio products. I have A Mac powerbook g4,Firewire 410,Axiom-49 and Pro Tools 7.4.

I run Reason,Ableton Live and a bunch of other rtas instruments like Sampletank 2 and etc...
M-Audio has made it possible for independent artist to actually produce and edit there own songs.

Not to mention it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
If you keep making these wonderful products who knows
how the industry will be 10 years from now. The possibilities are endless.
You can check some of our
music out at www. theuglycrew. com.
Keep up the good work M-Audio!

Thanks, KaR-D of The Ugly Crew
