Category: Romance and Relationships

The Art of Feng Shui involves the placement of enhancement symbols/objects in relationship to our surroundings - in particular our home and business. In Asia, a Feng Shui Master will even be consulted by the Architect in the planning of the relationships of rooms, doorways and windows to themselves and the forces of nature. It is truly believed that the proper, or improper, positioning and association of all these elements will have a dramatic impact on your life. We offer the enhancement symbols/objects with their meanings for your own Feng Shui collection.

Despite being an au courant fad, feng shui -- pronounced "fung shway" -- is nothing new to the Chinese. In fact, feng shui is a millennia-old practice.

The Chinese have long believed that if a home or business had a harmonious and positive flow of chi', which refers to cosmic breath or energy, those living and working there would benefit, thus enjoying health, happiness and prosperity. Palaces, farmhouses, temples and even entire cities were laid according to feng shui's precepts.

FENG SHUI LOVE CURES

Enhance your Love sector with Hearts, Mandarin Ducks, Elephants, Quan Yin, Lotus, Peonies, Crystals, Love Birds, the color Pink or Red...

SACRED ELEPHANT - For thousands of years, the elephant has been a symbol of power, wisdom, virility, fidelity, and longevity. This belief is held not by a single culture, but by at least three the Chinese, Africans, and Indians. The Sacred Elephant is used mostly to promote love and fidelity among couples, but some also use it to bring forth their innate qualities for good governance, namely dignity, intelligence, and prudence. Place it prominently either in your bedroom, study, or office.

Been trying for a few years and still haven't had a child? Try placing an elephant figurine in your bedroom and stroking its trunk every night before you sleep. If you're particular about the sex of your unborn, you might want to place a stone on the back of the elephant for a male child.

QUAN YIN - Kwan Yin (Quan Yin) Also known as Quan Yin Goddess of mercy and compassion. It is said that anyone who calls on her will be rescued from harm and bad health. When placed in a room she cleanses the home of negative influences, including arguments, martial problems and illness. Kwan Yin is also the protector of all children and women and brings compassion and love into your home. A must for anyone looking to strengthen or enhance a relationship with your partner or children, she also is said to enhance fertility.

ROOSTER of FIDELITY- Have a sneaking suspicion that your other half has someone else in his/her life? Those late nights at work are not really spent laboring in front of the computer? Try keeping a Rooster of Fidelity at your main door! Many Feng Shui practitioners recommend placing an image of the Rooster when extra-marital affairs become a threat to the household. The correct placement of the rooster is to place it at the main door looking out. This is to enable the rooster to peck away all possible peach flowers, a Chinese term for romance and love. Hence you can be sure of heavenly luck protecting your home against such intruders.

LOVING COUPLE IMAGES- Images of loving couples are used in Feng Shui to enhance present relationships or draw future relationship closer.

IMAGE of TWO BIRDS/LOVE BIRDS - Place a pair of birds in your bedroom. In China, birds are seen as harbingers of good luck, so including a pair in your bedroom can enhance a relationship.  Placing Two Rose Quartz Pieces on your dresser contain subtle vibrations that affect the emotions to strengthen feelings of affection. This cure also uses the number two to encourage affection between you and your partner.

TWO ROSE QUARTZ PIECES- on Your Dresser.  Rose quartz objects contain subtle vibrations that affect the emotions to strengthen feelings of affection. This cure also uses the number two to encourage affection between you and your partner.  Rose Quartz is known as the romance stone. It is also believed to aid peacefulness and calm in relationships also used to ease stress and tension and assist sleep.

MANDARIN DUCKS - The Chinese have always regarded Mandarin Ducks as perfect mates. Called "Yin Yiong", Mandarin Ducks mate for life (as opposed to the Emperors who had numerous concubines). They are also excellent mates, taking perfect care of each other.

Never seen apart or without the other tagging along many termed this the "perfect marriage". As such they eventually became the definitive symbol for conjugal bliss. Even today they are still the most potent symbol of everlasting love.

CRYSTAL LOTUS- one of the most potent enhancers of good fortune and when appropriately activated, it becomes an even more powerful attractor of business and prosperity luck. Display this crystal lotus in the center of your store or in the heart of your home and you will fnd your wealth increasing through extra income, i.e. pay raise, bigger deals, more customers, etc. Place it in your office in the same manner and you will find yourself closing more deals as it can help you to clear obstacles so that you get the upper hand in business negotiations. Place your crystal lotus near a window that receives sunshine so that your room will be filled with cascades of rainbows that will bring positive energies and a feeling of tranquility to your home. If you are seeking a perfect partner, place a Crystal Lotus in your romance area to symbolize a perfect union.

LAUGHING BUDDHA- The Laughing Buddha is well known symbol of happiness, wealth, kindness and innocent contented joy. It is believed that by rubbing his tummy each day, which is said to contain much wealth, will bring good luck and prosperity. Buddhas should never be placed on the floor as this is a sign of disrespect. All About Feng Shui recomends that you place your Buddha at least 4' from the floor in an elevated position. Treat him with respect and he will reward you handsomely. Best direction for him to be placed is our personal wealth direction. Place a figurine of a laughing buddha in your living room and garden. The buddha is the most revered deity in the East. Choose an image of him laughing to attract happiness to your home.

RED - A very powerful color. It is the color of passion, love and energy. Red has the lowest vibration among other colors, and therefore is the most physically vitalizing. In astrology, the color of Mars is red and it has dynamic power over iron. Iron gives us our red blood and without it, we would have some sort of pale liquid flowing in our veins. Mars is also the God of War. Translated, it means a martial spirit, quick strength, force, power and leadership.

Have you been feeling rather tired and off colored lately? Sluggish and haggard? Lacking the energy to do anything? Do you need something to stimulate warmth and excitement in you? Place your Red Agate near your sleeping place so that the healing energies can be transmitted to you. You can also display it on your working desk or some place where you can easily look at it. This beautiful stone is also wonderful to gaze at.

Feng Shui: Create Your Own Good Fortune!
Want to boost your love life, get ahead at work, and bring windfalls of money into your life? Ellen Whitehurst can help.
If rejuvenating your love life were as easy as putting fruit on your kitchen counter, would you make a dash for the farmer's market? And if someone told you that clearing the clutter around your entryway would bring a major career boost, would you break out the storage bins? Of course you would--just like the countless celebrities, business owners, and women like you who follow the more than 4,000-year-old Chinese art of feng shui.

Pronounced "fung shway," this philosophy is based on the premise that your living space mirrors your life, so the objects and energy in your home can either rev up or slow down your life's progress, says Ellen Whitehurst, a feng shui expert and holistic healer, and now a regular Redbook contributor. By using decorating and placement to create balance and harmony in your home, she explains, you can channel positive energy, known as chi, to improve all aspects of your life. There's a fundamental tenet behind this system--certain areas of your home correspond to specific areas of your life, according to the Bagua map. To help make your goals become a reality, superimpose this map on the layout of your house, apartment, or room to locate your nine energy centers and bring positive energy to the areas of your life that need it most. "For example, to invigorate your love life, focus on the room located in the right rear corner of your home," explains Whitehurst. Positive thinking also helps, she says. "Make it a daily practice to visualize your goals," says Whitehurst. Follow these easy tips, and you'll be on your way to making a luckier--and happier--you!

Ignite Your Love Life
It's no suprise that your bedroom has a strong impact on your love life, but so does that back right-hand area of your house, apartment, or room (the love and relationship zone).

Open your front door.
All energy, including romance, flows into your home through your doorway, so open it widely--and more frequently--to bring in the romance. If you're looking for a new love, shift stagnant energy by removing clutter near the door, and then get ready for someone special to come knocking.

Display pink roses in your bedroom.
Pink is the color of unconditional love, while white is the color of birth and new beginnings, according to feng shui. Put a pair of thornless pink roses in a white vase on your bedside table or somewhere you can see them, like your dresser, says Whitehurst. These colors, combined with roses--the flowers most associated with expressing love--will inspire romance to blossom.

Place a bowl of pears in your kitchen.
"Because the kitchen is traditionally considered 'the heart of the home,' putting a succulent set of =pears= in a bowl on your kitchen table creates the symbolic inspiration, as well as a physical action, that supports finding a beautiful pairing," says Whitehurst.

Bring balance to your decor.
Create an energetic invitation for the opposite sex, especially in the first room the guests enter. Look around and see if there's anything that might capture a man's attention (i.e. classic patterns and masculine textiles). Your bedroom decor is equally critical. If you're single and looking to attract a mate, consider the room's setup: Do you have only one chair in the room? Are the pillows stacked on your side of the bed? Ask yourself if this is what your bedroom would look like if there was someone sharing it with you. "Acting as if your soul mate has already arrived is one way to make that dream actually happen--and what better place than the bedroom to make these romance dreams come true?" says Whitehurst. If you're already living with your mate, but could use a little extra symbolic heat, try sleeping on red sheets. "In the world of feng shui, red sheets are the chili peppers of romance," says Whitehurst. .. End: articlep -->

5 Easy Steps to Heat Up Your Love Life

by Ellen Whitehurst

It's summer outside and the heat's rising everywhere, even (and especially) in your own love life! You can fan these flames of pleasure and romance in one single sizzling night by using secrets and suggestions from the world of feng shui.

What you'll need:
- Two pink candles
- Two (or more) pink roses
- A white vase
- Bay leaves
- One sheet of paper
- Vanilla extract

1. First we need to make sure that your love life is ready to be set aglow. Let's begin with something to complement long, lazy days and even hotter evenings and indulge in a bath that will banish all obstacles to finding the perfect person to saturate your thoughts.

Set aside a time when you won't be bothered by anything. Lock the bathroom door and light two pink candles that both have the words "True Love" etched onto them. You can use any sharp object to accomplish this, but the thorn from a pink rose is best. You'll need two pink roses for the third part of this magical night anyway, so why not try it? Otherwise, just grab a paring knife from a kitchen drawer and carve out your future by carving these two specific words. Light the candles and place them anywhere inside the bathroom.

Now, fill the tub with all your dreams and desires by contemplating just who you think your perfect partner may be. This is critical as it sets the intent. What are those certain qualities and characteristics that you know you want to find, or to make part of your current relationship. Then, adding to those intentions, fill the tub with warm water and add three bay leaves (you know you have a bottle of them somewhere inside your spice cabinet). It's even better if you also add one cup Epsom Salts and a pinch of cinnamon. This refreshing bath will bring big benefits as it washes away any obstacles that might be keeping you from finding the true love of your life.

If you want to add some rose petals to this bath, all the better, just remember that you'll need to save two for later. All thorns removed of course!

Soak for at least 20 minutes trying to keep your thoughts and your intentions on the goal of finding your perfect match, the very one that's very soon to light your own fire! Once done, don't forget to blow the candles out.

3. After you have dried off, take the two pink roses and put them in a white vase. Place that vase in the back, right hand corner of your bedroom (standing at the door to your room, make the room as close to a square or a rectangle as you can. Then locate the back right-hand corner and simply place the pair here.) Alternatively, if you have two bedside tables, you can place one rose each on the opposite sides of your bed.

4. Put on some soft, romantic music and cut a heart out of a piece of paper. Write on this heart those exact same words, "True Love." Drop a few drops of these vanilla extract on that heart. If you like, you can also add almond, musk, and patchouli oils.

5. Place the heart between your mattress and bedspring, right under where your own heart is while you are sleeping. Leave it here for 27 days.

Sleep well and then awake to a new day filled with the promise and the expectation of that special someone who will make this the hottest summer you've seen in a long time.

How to Improve Your Love Life with the Power
of Feng Shui... Without Spending a Dime!
by Stephanie Roberts

FENG shui (say "fung shway") is the art of creating a home environment that supports the life you wish to live. A key element of feng shui is creating a smooth flow of chi (positive energy) through your space. Chi likes to move through your home as though it were a gentle breeze or a meandering stream. Where it is blocked, the energy becomes stagnant--like a pond choked with algae and fallen leaves. You are likely to feel blocked in life, and your energy and enthusiasm for matters of the heart will be low. Balancing and correcting the chi of your bedroom helps encourage and invigorate romance. Here are some quick and easy ways to improve your love life by improving the energy of your home:

1. Clean up your bedroom
When your bedroom is cluttered and untidy, the energy in there will be low and slow. Clutter is a sure sign that chi is stuck, so roll up your sleeves and clean the place up if you want to jump-start your love life. Ring a bell, shake a rattle, or clap your hands loudly around the room to clear out old, stale energy.

2. Make room for love
If you want to attract a new romantic partner--or move a casual relationship closer to commitment--make sure there is space for that person in your home. Look at your closets, shelves, and dressers, especially in the bedroom; if they are all filled to capacity with your own stuff, make clearing some room for your current or future partner a priority. Aim to free up 25% of the space in your bedroom for someone else's things. When you are done, take a moment to visualize your loved one's belongings finding a home there.

3. Don't work out in the bedroom
When you exercise in the bedroom, or store your sports equipment there, you bring the energy of hard work and exertion into your romance space. Do you want your relationship to feel like a tough workout? If not, move your workout stuff somewhere else; your relationship is likely to move along more smoothly.

4. Remove old relationship energy
Go through your home--especially your bedroom--and remove anything that reminds you of past failed relationships; this could be an ex-boyfriend's old sweater you find in the closet, photographs of you with a previous partner, a gift that reminds you (unfavorably) of a giver with whom you are no longer in love--anything that reminds you of a love that went bad. No matter how incurable a romantic you may be, do NOT keep old love letters anywhere in your bedroom unless they are from someone with whom you are still blissfully paired up.

5. Remove inappropriate imagery
The images with which you surround yourself can have a powerful effect on your love life. Feng shui clients who complain of difficulty finding romance often have surrounded themselves with images of a person alone. Inappropriate imagery includes anything that represents solitude, loneliness, aggression, hard work, conflict, or disagreement in any way. That old photo of your Dad when he was in the army may be a treasure, but the wartime energy it carries doesn't have any place in the bedroom; find another place to keep it.

6. Open the door to love
Make sure both the front door of your home and the door to your bedroom open easily and completely. Doors that stick, squeak, or that only open partway because of all the stuff stored behind them are blocking the flow of romantic energy and opportunity into your home. A loose doorknob on your bedroom door could mean you're having a hard time "getting a handle on" romance; get out your screwdriver and tighten it up.

7. Create a path for chi
Walk slowly from your front door to your bedroom, pretending that you are a gentle river of chi. Look for any areas where furniture or other belongings are stopping or slowing the flow of chi, or where chi is diverted away from the bedroom to other areas of the house. Clear a path so fresh chi can find its way to your bedroom and nourish your love life. Make sure all the lights along this route are working, replace any burned-out bulbs, and be alert for dark or dingy corners where you can increase the energy by adding more light.

8. Move your bed
If one side of your bed is against the wall, the person who sleeps on that side may feel confined or disempowered in the relationship. If possible, place the bed so there is equal space on either side, so you and your partner can find equal enjoyment in the relationship. The ideal position of the bed will be on the opposite side of the room from the door, but not directly in line with it. If you can't see the bedroom door from the bed, hang a mirror where it will provide a reflected view of the entry.

9. Bring romance chi into the bedroom
Be sure to place romantic imagery in these two key places in the bedroom: the wall opposite the foot of the bed (where you naturally look when lying in bed), and whatever area of the room you first see when you enter. Beautiful, romantic artwork is always good, as are fresh or silk flowers and anything in pairs (such as birds, cherubs, candles, or decorative pillows). A round mirror is also good for the bedroom, as the shape signifies completion and unity. Look around your home for whatever says "romance" to you, and find a good spot for it in your bedroom.

10. Clarify your intention
Make a collage of images that symbolize your perfect relationship, and place it where you will see it every day. If you are already in a relationship, invite your partner to make a collage with you, to represent your intention to build a joyful and loving future together.
