Deviant behavior is behavior that is a recognized violation of social
norms. Formal and informal social controls attempt to prevent and minimize deviance.
Okay, I have been researching exhibitionism and I found sound interesting facts! Did you know know not only do I have Lady Godiva syndrome, I am considered a paraphile. Can you believe that Exihbitionism and Pedophilia are both sexually defiante behaviors. Yikes I am catagorized with Chronophilias……Okay just to set the records straight I don't get aroused by children, old people, dead people or even animals. So why would exhibitionism and voyeurism be considered a paraphilia act? What about naturalism? I mean want can't we just be natural and enjoy ourselves without ridicule?
Paraphilia is sexual deviation in psychology and sexology, is a term that describes a family of philias that reference sexual arousal in response to sexual objects or situations which may interfere with the capacity for reciprocal affectionate sexual activity. Paraphilia is also used to imply non-mainstream sexual practices without necessarily implying dysfunction or deviance. Also, it may describe sexual feelings toward otherwise non-sexual objects. As the -philias within it have derived nouns, the noun derived which could be used to describe the collection of persons with paraphilias would be paraphile. Psychologists generally use parasexual however.
- Exhibitionism: the recurrent urge or behavior to expose one's genitals to an unsuspecting person.
- Fetishism: the use of non-sexual or nonliving objects or part of a person's body to gain sexual excitement. Partialism refers to fetishes specifically involving nonsexual parts of the body.
- Frotteurism: the recurrent urges or behavior of touching or rubbing against a nonconsenting person.
- Masochism: the recurrent urge or behavior of wanting to be humiliated, beaten, bound, or otherwise made to suffer.
- Chronophilias such as Infantophilia: the sexual attraction to infants, Pedophilia: the sexual attraction to prepubescent children, Ephebophilia/Hepephilia: the sexual attraction to pubescent children, Gerontophilia: the sexual attraction to the elderly, and teleiophilia the sexual attraction of children to adults.
- Sadism: the recurrent urge or behavior involving acts in which the pain or humiliation of the victim is sexually exciting.
- Transvestic fetishism: a sexual attraction towards the clothing of the opposite gender.
- Voyeurism: the recurrent urge or behavior to observe an unsuspecting person who is naked, disrobing or engaging in sexual activities.
Honestly I think a lot of people have abnormal fetishes whether sexual or not. Why can't it be natural to love something or love doing something that fullfills you? What do you think of fetishes or what do you consider to be taboo? I didn't realize there were some many sexually deviant behaviors.
