Received an email from Robert Greenwald and the Brave New Foundation team,
which starts out like this ....

Dick Cheney says that torturing detainees has saved American lives. That claim is patently false. Cheney's torture policy was directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of American servicemen and women.

Matthew Alexander was the senior military interrogator for the task force that tracked down Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq and, at the time, a higher priority target than Osama bin Laden. Mr. Alexander has personally conducted hundreds of interrogations and supervised over a thousand of them.

"Torture does not save lives. Torture costs us lives," Mr. Alexander said in an exclusive interview at Brave New Studios. "And the reason why is that our enemies use it, number one, as a recruiting tool...These same foreign fighters who came to Iraq to fight because of torture and abuse....literally cost us hundreds if not thousands of American lives."

Watch our exclusive interview with Matthew Alexander.

At the very least Cheney is a war criminal.  He should be in jail. Instead he is continuing to spread his lies, and getting away with it.  Why is he getting so much non-critical media coverage?   sick sick.

Good Blog, Pilgrim,

Cheney and others should be in jail, but the country, the leaders, and the people of the USA don't seem to have the moral outrage or courage to do anything about it. Why? I wish I knew. We need more people like you are are speaking out. Thanks.

In a nation governed by reality Cheney would be in prison... we aren't governed by reality... we are kept divided... divided over weather or not inhumane treatment of humans is wrong? Among other topics.

They cant arrest him cause he didn't torture anyone.  If you think putting a few drops of water on someone is torture, you would never make it in the real world. Grow up

You obviously dont know what youre talking about.
Cheney should be arrested for violating his oath office, for raping the Constitution,
and for breaking the law.  I'm a veteran who is still ready to die for his country,
but I also believe that no one is above the law NO ONE!!  Cheney and Bush both
clearly violated the US Constitution.  They should be investigated and brought to trial.
"few drops of water" ??  Sheesh.  How much do you know about torture?

Maybe if those that don't think water boarding is torture were water boarded they would have a whole different out look on it.
And if you don't think that when you started torturing prisoners that you didn't create a whole lot bigger crop of enemy's you are a fool.  For every one person we tortured we added all their friends and families to a list of people that hate us.   That's more people to set bombs and carry guns.  Good going Cheney and Bush.  I don't see that as the best way to win the war or the protect the boys.
