Here is a general run down of what to expect and answer some questions about when Ripped Heart has a Cookout.  It is basically the same whether it is at our house or at the Hall before the show.

The general idea we (julie and I) had for doing the cookout is to have chance to hangout, talk and get to know some of you from the shows more.  Julie and kids aren't able to stay around real long at most of the shows and so it is a chance for her to meet more of you.  And during the shows I'm busy taking care of stuff and always feel bad that I have to cut every conversation I have short.  So, the cookouts are a bit more relaxed and not as rushed, loud or we're not being disrespectful to the band playing inside if we're outside talking.

What should you bring?  Bring some food or drinks (no alcohol) for yourself and some to share.  The Potluck type of thing: Everybody brings a little something and everybody has plenty to eat.  If you bring something you want grilled we provide 2 grills.  One for meat and one that is for vegetarian stuff.

Typically people bring Chips, hot dogs (a package of dogs can cost less then chips), cookies, candy or 2 litre of pop.  I've seen people bring burgers, pizza, chocolate.  Just bring something for yourself and something to share.  We usually try to have extra plates, cups, ketchup and mustard but doesn't hurt to bring some of your own.

Does it cost?  Not if it at our house, but if it is at the Hall then pay the admission for the show that follows to help cover the cost.

Will there be music?  If it is at the Hall, there probably will be some acoustic acts playing at some point during the cookout and of course the show after.  If it is at our house there may some acoustic preformances but we want to leave everything very casual.  So, we won't be doing a lot advertising that somebody is performing or scrambling to replace them if there is a 'cancelation'. (Matt Moore is planning to come on June 22nd cookout at our house).

thanks for all the support
