A homeless friend of mine came into I love Evelyn extremely drunk. After a few hours of him sleeping on the couch and feeding him crackers and water (trying to sober him up), he leaves and goes BACK to the rock house to get more beer. He came back to I love Evelyn, and apparently a police officer had been following him stumbling around on the streets. He gets out of the car and tells our friend to be still and stop resisting to arrest.. the thing is that he was so drunk he didn't realize anyone was talking to him, he was just minding his own drunk business.  (first of all let me clear up, I am not trying to justify him being drunk. I just want your thoughts on what should have happened here...) So when our friend started walking with no idea he was being talked too, the police officer decided it was a good idea to run and tackle him... I felt his head hit the concrete! Skip didn't cuss at the officer, just keep asking what are you doing, why did you push me down, my head hurts, why did you push my head to the ground?? When another police officer came to assist the situation, they both pulled him off of the ground and under his head was a small puddle of blood.. and the skin.. above his eye was hanging off his face. Than the officer began to question our friend, "what did you do?? did you resist arrest?? did you push this officer??" Our homeless friend began crying. His head was hurting so bad. They ended up calling lifenet to come check his face out, he is fine.. just very cut and bruised. The thing that got me, is that when lifenet came to I love Evelyn, our friend starting telling the EMT about what happened, she said, "We don't care what happened, just hush and be still..".

These people are homeless people like you and me.. the police may see these people drunk everyday, but think about it.. not owning one single thing, not having a bed to sleep it.. not even having a bathroom.. can you imagine the world without simple things like that? they have NOTHING.. alcohol and drugs are the only escape they have ya know? It doesn't make it right, but I am trying to help you all understand.

What do you think should have happened?

I could have made it easy on the officer, and taken our friend by the hand and asked him to come inside and watch tv.. is it's easier to push people around?? Maybe when i have more power over anyone on the streets.. I will squash people like ants.. not caring about who they are...

oh here is one more thing to help keep you aware of our wonderful city officials..
They wanted to shut down randy sams and make it into an animal clinic.. Thay care MORE about animals than other peoples children, parents, grandparents and even babies.

where is the humanity? In God we trust.. In God we beat people.. WRONG.. who are we? come down to I love Evelyn, and help us change the world.
