The show features the finest magicians from around the world, selected by Gay Blackstone (widow of magic legend Harry Blackstone Jr.), and also features A-thru-D level celebrity presenters attempting to slog through material written by yours truly.
 
And yes, I got Ernie Hudson to make a "Ghostbusters 2" reference.
 
Some celebs did a great job reading the prompter, while others... well... they brought their own "flair" to it and consequently had their speeches edited down "for time."
 
The best part of the job was working with NPH and hanging out with the magicians, one of whom I chatted with for 10 minutes before he revealed to me that his shirt was in fact filled with birds.
 
The worst part of the job was pissing myself backstage every time the tiger roared.  That thing was out to get me!
 
So tune in this Wednesday night and start your holiday early by "giving thanks" that they only let me write one magic award show per year.
