Hello all,

I have just finished reading the book, 'Looking for Doris' by my aunt, Barbara Brown.

I knew that I would like her book, partly because I had read and enjoyed a small portion of it before it was published, and partly because I love my aunt very much, not only because she's my aunt, (she actually isn't technically my aunt if you must know) but also because she is an incredibly charismatic and wise person and I admire her deeply. But I had no idea how much I would love her book, it extends past me just seeing her on the pages, it is a great book separate from that familiarity; it is a great book standing on its own.

Looking for Doris is about a woman who is on a quest to find herself in the
busyness of the city. The main character, Ellie, is on a journey to find love,
comfort, acceptance and grounding within herself. She does so in her own,
original way, a secret between her and you that she carries as the story moves steadily and beautifully along. The characters are very real, having all of the layers and complexities within each of us. We love them as Ellie loves
them.

Barbara's book has the familiarity and intimacy of an old
friend, and as you read through the story, you feel like you are coming home.

I loved it, and I highly recommend it to all of you.

Please take a look at the website: www.lookingfordoris.com

You can buy the book online ( there is a link on the site), OR you can order it from your local library, and I believe they will get a copy in for you. I'm
sure that you will enjoy it as much as I did. I have that feeling of loss when
you finish a great book.

Hurray for good reading,

Marinda
