...CANCER!!!
That's fucking right! I Tristan Peter Waight have finally beaten my battle with
cancer!!! Maaaan, I'm beyond super stoked right now and I can't thank everyone
enough for their strong support with my battle.
If you are just a new friend to Girl Vs Ghost basically I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma Stage 4b Cancer (which basically means it's almost beyond curable at
stage 4 and you probably get given one week to live). It had riddled my body
from my abdomen, lung lining, lungs, scapular and collar bone. I was riddled in
pain for 12 months but still kept playing shows and writing tunes, then after
going to at least 5 different doctors, 2 physios and 1 osteopath I finally got
a CT scan which displayed I had the cancer. I was diagnosed on December 1st
with a 30-40% chance of beating the cancer. From then I had a biopsy under my
arm, 6 months of HARDCORE 7 hour chemo with the biggest needles you'll ever see
in your life and obviously constant blood tests and scans.
Well I had surgery last week to remove the remaining of a tumour to the left of
my heart and they got it and can safely say it is no longer in my system and I
am 100% back to normal with a killer hair cut!!! haha!
Seriously, i'm really stoked and there are probably a billion typos and grammar
mistakes but I don't care...coz I fucking beat cancer!
Oh I'll give you a quick update on the band too! As I was at home for almost a
year with cancer I think it's safe to say that we as a band have written the
best songs so far for our brand new EP set to be released early 2010! I'm so
sorry for letting anyone down with the album plans, etc. We have all agreed
that it is a lot easier for us to simply do a 7 track EP with brand new songs,
national tours, promos and myspace.
The myspace has been so stale due to the constant rush of going to hospital and
writing tunes, etc. I'm now getting everything into gear now with new promos,
tunes, tours and videos weekly!!!
I'd love to especially thank my family and my amazing girlfriend Amber, I love you all so fucking
much.
