ABOUT THE AUCTION AND VIOLIN:
This hand painted violin is an artwork by Upstate New York artist Angela Amato. The oil painted violin features a Tuscany Landscape on the front and on the sides, while the back is in solid color. Ms. Amato finished the artwork in February 2009 and offered it to raise money for the “Melinda Doolittle Music Scholarship” at Belmont University.

The violin has a 3/4 standard size (13.5 inch body). The size, including black fret board totals 23 inches, the width is 1.5 inches. Complete with case.
Angela describes her artwork as follows:
“The painting was inspired by the Melinda Doolittle Music Scholarship at Belmont University. The imagery for the violin is inspired by the many visits to the Italian countryside with its dramatic light and cypress trees, and rolling hills. Plein-air painting in such a lush environment allows me to experience the landscape with all of my senses. I painted the original small plein-air painting that the violin was modeled after, outside a town by the name of Castellina in Chianti, in the province of Siena, Italy."
