Hi fans and friends,
new and old alike! Russ here, I know I haven't posted a blog entry in like, FOREVER,
but we have been posting new stuff on our site so
I hope you've been keeping up with us there! You have haven't you? lol
So our
summer is progressing well. It finally got hot here in ABQ and with a vengeance.
Today was close to 96 degrees which I loathe because I'm a sweater.
No not of the cashmere variety but of the hot, sticky, soaking wet as soon
as the sun touches my skin, kind. Anyway, enough about my hot sweaty body,
lol.
I wanted to let you all know that even though we're only posting a couple
of pages a month, we're still working hard on BLUE COMET AND FUSION and the
whole
Boy Meets Hero Universe so please keep on checking in on boymeetshero.com!
I've
said it before and anyone who's done it on their own will testify that
making a comic book is an arduous process. Our comic is pretty much the center
of our
creative universe, it seems like we live in a perpetual story meeting!
We
have a blast creating it though and getting letters from you guys too (hint,
hint).
So what else is happening.... Well, as you might be able to tell from the
front page of our site or from our new top friend, I have a crush. That's
right, Chayne
is the love of my life but I am crushing hard for Adam Lambert :) His amazing
voice hooked me but his bright, cheerful, just plain happy, demeanor is
what I'm in love with. Positive, hopeful people are so hard to find these
dystopian
days so when someone like Adam pops into the zeitgeist, well it's hard
NOT to pay attention. So Adam, if you by some chance are reading this,
thanks
for the
inspiration and smiles.
Well before I
go I'll give you a quick lightning round of news from Russ and Chayne's world:
- Russ'
band (I play drums) broke up in May
- Russ is still looking for another band to play in so anyone looking
for a drummer?!
- Chayne just added Masterpiece Grimlock to his massive Transformers
collection. Yes, he's pretty stoked about that :)
- Last weekend we were hit with a nostalgia bug and went on a mission
to get as many tunes from the 80's as we could. So many great tunes
from that
decade,
love it!!
- Finally got around to paying a listen to Green Day's "American Idiot",
holy crap that is a fantastic album. I'm hopefully gonna pick up their brand
new disc very soon.
- Haley (our beagle) and Kira (our corgi) are both as cute as ever
SUMMER MOVIE BREAKDOWN:
-Star Trek: LOVED IT!
-Wolverine: SKIPPED IT!
-Terminator: Wrath of Bale: SKIPPED IT! Fucking tired of post-apocolyptic "entertainment".
Hey Hollywood, there's something called COLOR FILM nowadays! Look into it!
-UP: LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!
-Land of the Lost: Funny but forgettable
-Transformers Part Deux: Michael Bay! You've raped my childhood! We'll
of course see it this weekend, lol. Expectations are in the basement,
people!
-HP: The Half Blood Prince: Of course I'm gonna love it, it's Harry
Freakin' Potter!
Alright, I guess
I have to scram for now. Haley has been patiently staring at me for five
minutes so that's my cue for "Hey! Hooman! It's
walkie time!"
Love you guys,
thanks for all your support and would it kill you to write us a letter sometime?
You never call.. you never write
what are we?
Chopped liver?
:)
-Russ
