Our Vice president had already the job with Halliburton he does not need to go to the Middle East for a visit to secure his financial future. So why did he travel to the region?
It is because the drum rolls for another war! Well being Middle Eastern everyone wants to know of what I think of Middle Eastern politics! As if I some how have a clue as to where the next bomb will drop.
Since I have not had the chance to talk politics with some of you recently, I figure I put my guess on my wall as to what will happen with Middle Eastern politics over the next few months. This is my view and it is open to discussion.
Bush was not a fool when he said that he is waiting for war world 3 to start. This is for a good reason it has been in the works since the beginning of his administration. Over the past two years Israel has slowly eliminated or weekend its enemies by attacking Lebanon and creating a buffer zone with international troops. Further more by Israel attacking Hammas in Gaza and destroying the very little infrastructure and economy that the Palestinian refugee camps had. Additionally it conducted an attack against Syria and destroying its military infrastructure.
Uncle Sam has been kind to the region. The US has armed Middle Eastern allies to the teeth by selling over 60 billion dollars in arms to the region. Over 30 billion dollars of it to Israel this past year. This is above and beyond the regular charity of US foreign political aide that is given to Israel.
The US has published reports that Iran has not pursued Nuclear weapon technology since 2003. With an election year ahead for the US and change in US government eminent, the republicans know that getting US involved in another war is the best chance of winning the election. Since Republicans are viewed more favorably by the general public and the media as stronger for National Security! Nothing like to rally behind the flag during an election year! The same republicans have no political capital to start a war so they will et the friends the strong happy trigger finger Allies Isriel to start the war. So what is my prediction! That Israel will attack a number of Iranian nuclear installations. That Iran will retaliate back at US and Israel since it will be Iraqi airspace controlled by US that the Israeli war planes will have to traverse over. That Senator Johnny McCain will sing bomb bomb bomb Iran with its vice presidential nominee Josheph Lieberman to the sound of beach boys. They will be viewed as the tough American political leadership needed to respond to the crazy Iranians (even though Iran has not waged a war on another country for as long as I remember) When the dust settles and the election is over the opportunity present it self by the new administration to start a dialogue with Iran or to continue to pursue a war in the middle east. Regardless of how the chips fall it will be another few hundred thousand deaths in the Middle East so that US government continues to get subsidized energy from the region and in turn sell its outdated weapons to bring democracy over the barrel of the gun to rest of the Middle East.
