June 5, 2009 - Friday
so last week there was a free concert thing in Long Beach to raise awareness of Hepatitis C (HCV). I saw it posted here on a bulletin, along with another one this weekend in Santa Monica. I thought I'd go but I couldn't find a dollar for bus fare, so I skipped it.

But I was OK with that even though I was a bit disappointed, because tomorrow was going to be the other event to raise awareness for HCV. It's the Los Angeles Acoustic Music Festival or some such name. so I go online and look it up to see the hours and stuff.

Well this one turned out not to be free. In fact they want $120 fucking dollars to get in. Jumping Jesus on a Pogo Stick! Who the hell are they trying to make aware? Uber rich snobs who live in Pacific Palisades? Shit! They can keep their damn music and their awareness. Most people are "aware" that there is a HCV problem. It would be nice to make people aware that people with HCV don't need to be treated like they have AIDS AND Tuberculosis, and can't be kissed or hugged or even touched for that matter. Oh crap. I guess the five people who show up who can afford it will get aware...I hope?

I'm grumpy as hell this morning. I just felt like rambling on about something. It ended up being this concert. David Lindley was playing too. He was in a 60's band called Kaleidoscope (US) and played with Jackson Brown on all his early albums. I really like his music. I think I'll go online and find some to listen to. I know I won't have to pay $120 for it.
Maybe I'll take the $1 I saved for bus fare and buy a 1/2 a cigar.

$120?! That is insane unless they are using the proceeds to reach others for FREE!

Hep C is NOT Aids, HIV, or TB!  LOL!  Peoples stupidity just astounds me at times.
There is ONLY ONE WAY to catch it and that is BLOOD.  - sharing needles with one who has it,
etc.....  Not through kissing, sex, hugs, etc.

Yep! Awareness is essential for understanding!

Those who don't know this need to stop looking down and start looking up at the truth

Good Post ~ Keep Spreading the Truth and enjoy that cigar!

Good post Angry (and SpiritPoetry)!!  $120 does sound steep for a ticket.  I am one who paid $2.50 for a ticket to see Led Zepplin when the first album came out.  Paid $5 to see the Beatles in 1964 and that was a lot then!  But not to get off the track.....Hep C awareness should be free.  The artists should perform for free.  But you'll not get a free bus ride in So. California.  I remember when 'thumbing it' was an accepted mode of transportation.  Oh well, enough reflection.

You are all right on the Money!! But here in Fl. I never even hear HCV unless in comes outta mine or my Drs. mouth!! Such little attention paid to this disease, as I'm getting ready for my second round of treatment for this Crap!!! I get treated more often than not like a Leper so I learned to keep my mouth SHUT!! HOW SAD IS THAT because I could educate alot of people but they think it won't happen to ME!! See Ya at the Dr.office Suckers!!

Great Post...In Nov. of last year when I just found out it had become active, my hubby and I took a trip to see his family. Well, he's got a stuck up, uptight, major general, for the airforce, comptroler for the pentagon, nephew, (NOTICE NO CAPS AS I AM NOT IMPRESSED!) who asks me why I'm looking so sick. I tell him why. Being that he has a job that you might think would require a certain amount of intelect, phones me upon our return home. Say's that he's worried that I will give IT to his Dear Uncle and KILL him, because it's SSSSOOO contagious. My reply...Don't worry honey(ASSHOLE), not to worry, your Dear Uncle has had Hep C longer than me!!! LMAO.
By the way Bro, I'm doing GREAT, totaly holistic, and numbers are droppin like fly's, and I feel GOOD!
And I'm in FL, and totaly agree w/Cheap Sunglasses! If, my MD roll's his eye's at me one time, I'm gonna pop him right in the head, when I'm TOTALLY Cured, Holisticly! Peace~Dawny oxox

Hepatitis C Gift Of Life Liver Transplant 08-30-08

Yes It is Insane the cost of these events.  I as you have to search my change for a $1.00. I wanted to go to some of the Transplant Events they were holding here in Florida. Well, the same thing all the events cost money I don't ever see.  So I wrote the event holder why don't you have events that us with Liver Transplants can afford to go to? She said well we are raising money so you can get your free Medication's etc. Ok and these rich people care and attend she said yes!
I said well I am sad and would like to be at a fun event with others who had Transplants what can you do for us.  She gave me a phone number to another person who had a Kidney Transplant and he holds things for us. Well as of yet nothing has happened. He said what about a picnic? I said sure that was way back in March it never happened why he is broke...................... So much for events for the poor....
