How in the fuck can a story like this just disappear in a few days? The Italians got hold of some Mafia informant dude. He told them that the Mafia has been buying old boats and filling them up with toxic and possibly radioactive waste from European and Italian pharmaceutical / chemical companies. Then he said they would sail out to sea, kill the crew and sink the boat. He told them he personally knew the location of 2 wrecks but believed they had sunk about THIRTY!
The Italian navy went to the first site and launched an unmanned submersible that found a wreck with yellow barrels (marked with toxic waste stickers)...and skeletons. He told them the Mafia got between $2 and $20million depending on the size of the ship and the cargo.
Today, nothing in the papers. And people are worried about health care. Shit!http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8275320.stm
