The Red Dirt Shoes album is in heavy production and should be like nothing I have done before.

 It all began when an injury almost forced me to stop playing guitar,a crushing blow to my life and mood to say the least. So I tuned to an open tuning and put a slide on.My fingers were not working but my arm still moved. A recent trip to Oklahoma was on my mind and my shoes were still stained with the red clay of my home state. Next thing I new the slide was moving over the strings and the words were coming like they tend to when you least expect it. The sound was different but it felt wonderful just to know the writing process hadn't run off with my beloved G chord and left me.

 What came next was a ruse by my wife Victoria to get a cut recorded,a carefully orchestrated visit from Kevin Tubbs from Alaska and Jim Tilly from Okla,and my new best friend a Dobro! Then a labor of love began, to arrange and record the song in Oklahoma where a dozen or so fast friends went into the studio and recorded what I consider my best song to date. A heartfelt thanks to all my friends in The Valley, Okla., Ak, and Ca., for helping me get through the last couple of years still playing and writing.

Jim Tilly=advocate, producer, singer, picker of guitar and mandolin. Out of Tulsa, Okla, Jim had a huge hand in my roots as we both hail from Pryor Creek and lived and played together in Stillwater with a band known as Cimarron.Jim produced the cut of Red Dirt Shoes that is on the album.

Bob Childers=My oldest songwriting amigo,we used to skip lunch just to play our newest songs for eachother and pass the pipe for peace. Bob sings on Red Dirt Shoes. Love you Bob

Curt Nielson=Mandolin player and constant gig companion in Okla. for quite a few years now.Appears on Red Dirt Shoes

Jon Cooper,Brian Picollo and Ben Han,(The Red Dirt Rangers)true carriers of the torch. Appearing on Red Dirt Shoes.

Tom Skinner= singer songwriter of massive fame, and host of the Science Project out of Tulsa.Sings and plays bass on Red Dirt Shoes

Randy Crouch= Legendary entertainer and prophet out of N.E. Okla.Glad to call him my friend. Fiddle on Red Dirt Shoes

Don Morris=Singer-songwriter with a constant song in his heart and the ability to mesmerize you with his ballads. Sings on Red Dirt Shoes.

Patrick Williams= Of Farm Couple Fame, Patrick appears on Red Dirt Shoes with his famous voice.

Pam Hartman=One of the richest bluesiest, sexy voices I have ever heard. Out of Stillwater Pam has made all she sings with sound better than we really are. Thanks Pam. Sings on Red Dirt Shoes.

Monica Taylor=The other rich, bluesey, sexy voice you hear on Red Dirt Shoes. Previously of The Farm Couple fame she has struck out on her own to find what awaits her. You go girl, Can't wait to see what that brings

Brett Crump=Haven't ever met Brett but his hand in engineering Red Dirt Shoes was heartfelt and classy. Thanks Brett

David Teegarten=drummer who needs no intro from this lowly picker,David has a string of musical accomplishmints to his name and the gold records on the wall to prove it.Owner- engineer of the studio where Red Dirt shoes was recorded.

Nick Dunlap= Singer-songwriter and my youngest son.Nick will have his first song, (My Life) released with this project. Living in L.A. now he is honing his songwriting craft to an edge and chasing his dreams.

Tony Edwards=Don't think that's me playing lead on Sunburn and Hand Full Of Sand.That is Tony,who has chased musical satisfaction since birth. He was born with a 6-string in his hand and Stevie Ray on the player,Quite the talent for such a young pup he hails from Creston Wash.

Cody Craig=Cody is a nieghbor of mine that toured with national acts in his younger days and settled in Sterling Valley.An unimaginably great guitar player.

For a guy that has always done a solo act and for the most part solo recording, this one is making me wonder what I missed out on all those years
