Last night, May 10th, while attending the "DuhanCon" party at Matt and Tara's place...

Josh Rasey got down on TWO knees and, in front of several of my friends, presented me with my engagement ring (and wedding band) and asked me to marry him!

As those who were there to witness it can attest, I said yes!



The photo definitely doesn't do it justice. The ring is sparkly as could be. It's a lab-created pink heart shaped garnet (with four diamonds). Some lights do make it look clear or yellowish but in most lights it is a brilliant Carrie pink.

The gold is white gold on top, dipped in yellow gold on the bottom.

Wedding to happen in, like, April or May of 2009.

- Josh Rasey for being the love of my life, a wonderful guy, my future husband and hopefully father of my future children, and a big lovable mischievous goofball. Thank you for getting me the ring I wanted and surprising me with it and thank you in advance for the wedding, the marital bliss, and all the less-than-blissful moments we will share. I love you!
- Matt and Tara for hosting the engagement
- Ken Sherlock for being my best friend (and driving me out to Jewelry Exchange when I asked)
- Erin Sherlock for agreeing to be my flower girl (even if she maybe doesn't quite understand what that means)
- Everyone who took photos of the engagement (will post later once I get copies) and everyone who was there to witness it and just be my awesome, unsurpassable group of friends
- Rebecca and Emily for telling me about Jeweler's Row, where the ring was ultimately purchased
- Everyone that's about fixing to leave me a "congrats" comment. You guys rock!
- Everyone that I am forgetting, you all rock too.

Congrats on you settling down! Now, If I can get your pal, Luke Ski married off, then I know that JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!
Anyway, if I was you, I would get married at one of the cons that is held in April, 2009, in front of all your fans as part of the halftime festivities for the costume contest.
Well, I better get back on patrol. I have to do a script for my heroic pal, Feedback, for his audio show, which is called Feedback: A Hero's Calling!
By the way, please make sure that when you come to Dragon Con, I want to meet Josh, so that I can approve of him.

Congratulations to you and Josh. I had the pleasure of meeting you at Windycon in Chicago in 2006 and seeing you perform, and so I wish you the best. (As you don't remember our meeting when I sent my friend request, I guess that means I rock.)

Interesting that you've named a shade of pink after yourself. (That makes you the second redhead -- as depicted in the picture above -- I know who's fond of pink, the first being my favorite game show model, Holly Hallstrom.) As you may know, June Carter (yes, the June Carter married to Johnny Cash) named a shade of blue after herself. (No, this doesn't mean you have to filk "Wildwood Flower," but it couldn't hurt. :) )

Tell your friend Danger Woman that if she ever gets tired of trying to fix Luke up, she can always try with me. :)
