Who Gives Kudos:

Saturday, November 18, 2006
last night the Cornford building was ram raided and around 6000 Erotic Cakes CD's were stolen along with guitars etc etc,

If anyone is offered the record from an "unusual" source, it would be great if you could let us know, The record is only available from Cornford Records direct, Abstract Logic, and Inside Out Records, those are currently the only official places to buy, apart from getting a copy from one of the band,

Sad but true as the song goes,

take care and peace,

Paul C

P/S if anyone sees the loverly 69 Les Paul Custom that Guthrie used at the NEC shows it would great to know, as that went too.
Julie Schreiber Band

Ley us know if we can help in any way Paul.

What I find unreal here, is that those are the only places where one can get a copy of this music...thats weird, cause this guy and his playing is out of this world....recordpeople...give this man to the world... :-)

Sorry about the robbery though.. ;-)

WOW - does that ever suck. I am sorry to hear of this kind of crap. My friend works in a local music store - kind of a landmark for many musicians over the years. Last week [4] guitars were stolen form the place - they have no security cameras, etc., never needed them. I hope you find the loser that did this and that the guitar is found in good condition as well as the CDs..... I wish you well.

Sorry to hear about the raid, all I can say is the bastards got 6000 kickass albums, but people with the conscience to go and steal somebodys else's work just sickens me, anyway hope it works out in the end and carry on because it'll only drive you to make more!

Hmmm, i heard somewhere that record compaines often pull this sorta thing to cut down on royalty payments or something, so it looks like they sell half as much as they actually do...actually, i think it was frank zappa that said that...anyway, that might be somehow relivant

wow too bad...especially about the guitar. Good guitars are hard to find :)

But what about the cds? hehe...I mean...seriously...fusion isn't that much of a mainstream genre.
I love guthrie's playing and all his work in Guitarist & Guitar Techniques mags, but how realistic is this?
WHO IN THE WORLD DECIDES TO STEAL 6000 FUSION CDS OF THE SAME ALBUM & ARTIST THAT IS PRETTY UNKNOWN IN THE MAINSTREAM MUSICMEDIA??

I dont mean to slam guthrie's status, but ask anyone outside this field of work if they know who he is?
I could see how cds of dire straits or the beatles would get stolen, but common, fusion guitarists? :P
and how would you move 6000 cds from a place anyways over night? You'd need a truck at least :P

well...my condolences to Guthrie and cornford!!
