I bet you're wondering what the hell is going on with the Nakano recordings that supposedly took place a few months ago. Well…
We recorded seven songs with Mark Poole in September at Zone 8 Studios. We plan on releasing this self titled debut CD in late March early April. George Cici of Indie Mastering mastered the tracks, so you know they sound amazing. Artwork is being handled by Francy Jones and will feature some stunning illustrations of home furnishings and lamp posts. Yeah, it sounds made up, but when you see it, it will totally make sense. Curious as to what the new recordings sound like? Check out the songs "Modern Missionaries" and "I'm Sorry, I'm Scared" featured on our profile.
4 more tracks were recorded in late January in Baltimore at an undisclosed location. We had access to some pretty amazing recording equipment in a super creative environment and we were assisted by a wonderfully talented engineer and the presence of ex-Nakano member Tim St. Clair. Two brand new songs were committed to tape, er hard disk rather, and two improv jams (think more along the lines of Cul-De-Sac and Lungfish rather than Grateful Dead and Phish please). We plan on releasing this as a short run EP of some sorts after the full length comes out.
Peace and Godspeed.
